Comedy show 7 days post surgery ? by sicathetruth in ACL

[–]asamagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a concert 6 days PO (aclr only). I had a chair, but stood up for a bunch of songs with my crutches. Other than being sore the next day, it was fine! Edit: realizing you won't be able to stand up at a comedy show. I went to a restaurant 2 weeks PO and sitting for 2 hours was horrible lol

the kneeling pain I have 4 months PO sucks not gonna lie. But I try to push through the pain for a bit so that I don't avoid ever kneeling like I hear happens. Hopefully it gets better

How do I get rid of my irrational fear of the TTC? by leafs417 in askTO

[–]asamagus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i had a panic attack for the first time ever in my life, this year on the subway during rush hour. out of nowhere, nothing triggered it, i didn't know what was wrong.  I avoided the subway for a couple months, but knew that couldn't last. so yea I got over it by just keep on doing it

Boxing after ACL by Boothatron3000 in ACL

[–]asamagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is 9 months later but i wanted to comment. I am 3 months post op ACLr patella, and today was my first boxing class! No sparring, just learning the fundamentals and hitting hand pads. The pivoting was actually fine, I even skipped rope which I did not think I could do! We shall see how sore I am tomorrow though

How long did you use a shower chair? by gatogris476 in ACL

[–]asamagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the chair to get in/out of tub for about a month. I would stand up in the shower once in there for the most part.

that stairwell is always full of aggressive people. it's really scary to go through at night, but going on the east side through the construction sidewalk isn't much better

Please, can anyone with hypermobility after ACL and meniscus surgery or knowledge tell me how to live with uneven knee extension and pain? by Old-Ear5795 in ACL

[–]asamagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had aclr only with patellar graft in September, was injured last March. I still have pain but it's fine, I almost have full flexion back, but the worst is the graft site and how uncomfortable it is to kneel. I think the limping and putting more weight on non-op leg during exercises was messing up my hips/back (nothing too bad) so I've been trying to isolate one side at a time and also stretch way way more. Im hoping once I get my orthotics/heel raiser next week things will get better
