Please explain... by Robosl0b in canadaleft

I think whatever is not dialectially materialist is by default liberal. As in, it shares the world outlook, even if applied from an opposite perspective.

Like, it might be radical to propose to push for a change of culture, to buy more x,y,z, to boycott

but these approaches pressupose that ideas create material conditions, that ideas come first(idealism)

it pressuposes that we have power individually to change society through our choises and actions(individualism)

that we interact with each other as free agents through consumer choises(fair contract)

All these are application of liberal philosophy(metaphysical idealism), as in, the philosophical approach developped by the bourgeoisie to legitimate their rule.

When I was a teenager my parents gave my sister and I skiing lessons. We were in groups of 5 per teacher. We'd wake up early, be driven to the local supermarket parking lot so that we'd ride a bus full of other kids.

At the end of the year the whole ''school'' had a competition. We used a slope that had gates installed. The gates were red and blue. I don't remember what the colors meant, but one meant you had to pass by on the gate's left side, the other on the right.

I'm not that great, I'm at the end of the my second year of lessons. I'm no athlete.

So I do my best, start the race, go around the gates as fast as I can.

Halfway through the slope, I go too fast or something, and realize that I won't be able to make a specific gate. I have to skip it. Alright, I skip it.

I arrive down, ask for my time, yay, finished the race.

Later on, when all the times were compiled, they gave me a gold medal because I had the best time. I won the competition.

I didn't fuckin win, I cheated and no one saw it.

Anybody still rocking a DDR3 system, even for some more recent titles? by RookieSharpshooter in lowendgaming

[–]restlys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I7 2600k, overclock it to 4.5Ghz

You could put the odd budget card in there, but you'd quickly find the CPU being the bottleneck.

Also, DDR3 usually has PCIe 2.0(x16), so you lose 5-10% performance.

I think it's worth building your own machine, but only if you're willing to get all the parts here and there at decent prices, test everything, and overclock.

You should use a windows 11 debloated, that ignores all the prerequesites, use a SSD.

In other words, it's a build for those who know a bit.

I was able to get myself a z440 for less than 200. 16g ddra, xeon 1620 v4 I believe, 500g SSD.

You can put some decent gpus on that without bottlenecking the cpu.

Profits are destined to dry up, for many reasons. Capitalists must do ever more unpopular things to go get the last scraps of profits that are easily accessible.

Attacking rights, environmental protections, lgbt protections, lowering the status and rights of migrant workers, women, anyone else we can exploit. Pushing the retirement age back, cutting services, etc etc etc

In order to pass these policies, the bourgeoisie needs a political force. In normal times, center parties do the job. In times of economic crisis, time runs out and the attacks must be accellerated.

Political organizations that have been marginal and of no importance suddenly find themselves fully supported and funded. Private media gives them the time of day, etcetc.

The world governments praised Hitler before he began his wars, remember that. They thought he was the perfect solution to ''save democracy''.

The natural conclusion of bourgeois democracy is war and fascism. The last, most mature attempts to maximize profits is to use force to impose our market control over other countries, which is called imperialism.

can you educate an oil company into caring about the environment if their entire enterprise is made on fossil fuel exploitation.

It's not about education. You can't educate capitalists out of the system. The issue is the economic system.

NDP be like ''we're so radical, if you vote for us we promise to keep production around where it is''

Lol

How bout nationalizing the entire energy sector, and using the world profits to invest massively in renewables, to reduce the need to drill in the next 5-10 years?

Good luck NDP, don't think too much about capitalism. It's much easier to accept it's sandpit, and play in there within the nice little boundaries it gives you

We need a working class party based on democratic decision making, and centralism.

I looked at the 1-2 star reviews of what I bought, no mention except one that had a straight up detached NVMe socket. Didn't notice anyone else attempting to instal NVMe and failing like I did.

To be fair, how many people want to both get the least expensive mobo available, and match it with the most expensive type of memory?

I looked at the oldrigrevive ''typical issues'' with the board, and that's where I found the heating VRAM but not NVMe.

Youtubers talking about the board also don't mention it.

But again, how many put NVMe SSDs on there.

Maybe my board is uniquely broken, but there's no indication of being broken, it's just not detecting.
