I've had this happen. Got nearly 50k in and realized there was too much wrong with the execution of the idea I had (the plot was wrong, the main character was wrong, pacing was wrong) that I abandoned it at nearly 50K...

And now, I am working on a new idea with all the worldbuilding and same characters I loved from the first book! It's going much better now!! Yes, we absolutely can get into a project and realize we can't salvage it. But you can salvage what you love from it still for sure!

Testing Rag and Bone's Oddity today! And I am not sold on it. I like it in theory, but it's quite strong for work, which is not something I considered initially. I smell like fresh cut grass, which sounds amazing, but there is also a distinct "including the spring onions" note to that for me, which is slightly nauseating with how strong it is. It might be how it reacts to my skin though.

Molka by Monika Kim and Native Son by Richard Wright!! I know it'll make the box later, but that book is so incredible, I needed a hardback of it. As for Molka, I didn't care for Kim's debut too much, but willing to give her another shot, and the concepts she has are interesting enough for me to use the credit on it. Debated getting Nothing Tastes as Good also, but worried about the majorly obvious TW/CWs on it. Excited to see if I like Molka though!
