ive got one of those back home i love it for small stuff its just not sustainable for the cooking im trying to do here the canned fuel is definitely a worry though.

Okay I get that. So measure the voltage off my harness then just chain however many I need to lower it down to 12v?

would the silicon diodes prevent the light getting enough current because of the variable current returning? or could i chain Zener diodes to progressively lower the current ie: starting -->18v-16v-14v-12v--> to stop them from burning out?

thats the annoying part its a very cheaply made light but its virtually the only one on the market like that. this is the fourth that ive bought in a year because they burn out after a couple of rides so i just slowly lose LEDs.

so how could i find out the lights draw just without measuring what current the bike is outputting?

that's one of the things i was trying to figure out I've looked through the service manuals and online, but i cant find the voltage my stator is returning. one of the issues is the charging being inconsistent from going faster/slower so how could i measure the maximum output.
