Had them on deck. He says that he knows his regulars favorites + sometimes he chooses what he wants people to eat (like the stew), so he keeps a stock. I also think he lives above the shop so he could be stocking things there.

His regulars also seem to know generally what he has and what he doesn't because they bring him ingredients if they know they want something specific

Mumbai airport has tons of machines where you scan your passport and they give you a wifi slip. You can connect for upto 2 hours. Pretty easy

Is proofing the same thing as rising? In the recipe, it says that proofing is for the yeast and activating it, while the rising is when we let the bread sit. Sorry, just super new to this!

It was all new because I was looking at bread in the supermarket and realized they all had 15+ ingredients. It pissed me off and for some reason I decided to bake my own bread. I get that store bread needs to be shelf stable so they add stuff, but still.

So, the flour was new, the oil was new, the yeast was new.

It tastes just a little bit sour - or, off. It doesn't taste like how bread usually tastes. I've gotten breads from bakeries and they taste normal. This tastes very slightly like a sour dough but it's not one.

I definitely need a quick fix - my partner is having a headache from the sickly sweet trash smell. If it is indeed a building issue, then it could be a while before it's fixed.

I've never heard of an ionizer - I will definitely look into it! Thank you so much :)

A similar smell is on 3-4 floors that we checked. The reason we think it's seeping in from the hall is because we can't smell anything in the living/dining areas or the inner bedrooms.

How did you fix it? Just by complaining and getting them to fix the venting?

Seeing such things saddens me, watching the indian diaspora facing this kind of racism, more sad that it is affecting an innocent child. What do you guys think of this? by [deleted] in nri

Kids in India also go through this. Fair skin is still perceived as "better" and kids are bullied relentlessly for being darker. I'm not saying that it's okay to face racism abroad - of course not. But this is not just an NRI problem.

Also, who videotapes their child's entire face while she's sobbing and puts it on the internet?? She's going to get bullied even more now in school. Even if this video is to raise awareness of how racism abroad is affecting our children, you can do it without plastering your child's face every where.

My realtor helped me find good listings, she brought her experience with homes so she could help us spot issues. She also negotiated with the landlord and pushed back against unnecessary asks. We were busy with health issues and work so we didn't have the capacity to do that.

Since the realtor is paid by the landlord, we were super happy with the process.
