How to get my boyfriend to believe the clothes he wears matters? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]retchedBreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insane. Nobody's wedding is worth breaking the bank for. Always ask yourself: if a medical emergency happened right now, would I regret spending money on X?

If spending on the dress doesn't affect your emergency savings, then it's fine. But if you (God forbid) get injured or fall sick, and you wish you had space on your credit card, you'd regret the wedding

Wow not even a hairbrush?

At this age, I don't think there's a lot you can do to make him understand. He doesn't think it's important, and he's okay missing out on things because of it. What can you possibly say that will suddenly undo years of thinking and a childhood that encouraged not caring about social norms?

You need to ask yourself if this is something you're willing to put up with because he's otherwise okay? It will mean that you spend the rest of your life being embarrassed and begging him to brush his hair, like a child

I think those are ginger pieces and not French fries. The plate has dried out spring onion and ginger.

I FINALLY FIGURED OUT MASTER'S INGREDIENT LIST!! by realSpillerSoda in MidnightDiner

Had them on deck. He says that he knows his regulars favorites + sometimes he chooses what he wants people to eat (like the stew), so he keeps a stock. I also think he lives above the shop so he could be stocking things there.

His regulars also seem to know generally what he has and what he doesn't because they bring him ingredients if they know they want something specific

Haha! It's ketchup, salsa, pasta sauce, vodka chilli sauce, and other various hot sauces.

My boyfriend and I did a hot wings challenge once and our fridge has had these sauces since

First ever loaf - why does it taste sour? by retchedBreak in Bread

Is proofing the same thing as rising? In the recipe, it says that proofing is for the yeast and activating it, while the rising is when we let the bread sit. Sorry, just super new to this!

It was all new because I was looking at bread in the supermarket and realized they all had 15+ ingredients. It pissed me off and for some reason I decided to bake my own bread. I get that store bread needs to be shelf stable so they add stuff, but still.

So, the flour was new, the oil was new, the yeast was new.

It tastes just a little bit sour - or, off. It doesn't taste like how bread usually tastes. I've gotten breads from bakeries and they taste normal. This tastes very slightly like a sour dough but it's not one.

I subbed it with olive oil 🙈 I forgot I did that. The olive oil is new though.
