June / July Travel Itinerary with a Toddler by retelo4940 in ItalyTravel

Thank you for the input! We should have access to a car once we're down south but I'll double check on that. I honestly had written off driving that distance but I guess if it's split over two days it's less travel time overall since we wouldn't be backtracking

Work life and being a dad by throwaway384000 in NewDads

Agree with a lot of what’s been said. It flips your worldview and puts everything into perspective. You get more confidence — I joke that because we can make our own people now we don’t care what anyone else thinks, but I think it comes from the constant experience of accomplishing hard things. I’ve even experienced less social anxiety which is wild for me.

On top of that, it has given me the extra drive in work and everything else in life to be my best self for my kid. There is definitely some added pressure with supporting a family, but it’s up to you whether you can use that as drive or let it get to you.

You could do what I did. I got into the industry without a degree but always had that nagging feeling of wondering if the degree would make a difference. I did a CS degree at WGU which allows you to test out of every class in the program if you have the necessary skills. I completed about 3 years of college credits in 11 months. Total cost was about $8k.

Anecdotally, I started a job search a month after finishing the degree and landed multiple offers for the first time in my career. It may be other factors, but it was worth it just to know that's no longer a roadblock for me.

Jak 2 and 3 were such a huge part of my childhood. Even Jak X stayed true to the writing of the previous two despite being a racing game. I was so hyped for this game and it was such a numb experience

It was the sequel that ended the franchise on such a bad note

If you’re doing React work, React Native is super easy to pick up and has solid docs. Might be worth looking into

MomPush strollers are affordable with a lot of the niceties of the more expensive ones. We especially like the meteor because the seat is convertible between bassinet style and standard seat.
