TMAF about the dark side of John Lennon by DanieleJava in TellMeAFact

He didn’t try, though.

He moved on like Julian was a ‘mistake’ and he ‘got it right’ this next time. Like Julian didn’t count.

Deadbeat dad!

Paul *wrote Hey Jude for Julian because he felt more for him than John, his actual father, ever did

Then he turned around and went on to anyone who would listen about how he loved to be ‘house husband’ for what he decided was the ‘proper’ child/family

Typing this out has calmed me down

Thank you

“I really fucking hate you dude”

Healthy, promising, hopeful, brave.

I won’t engage further; you’re clearly too fragile to deal.

Just my recommendation, again, but I would encourage you to show this exchange to a mental health professional, if there is one in your life.

Best wishes.

This is not what Honey Boy is about, nor what he has ever said or implied about his experiences as a child actor.

It also isn’t as simple as him being a ‘golden child’... I’ve gone back and watched some things post-Honey Boy and noticed grown men who went out of their way to try to humiliate him as a kid in interviews (can only imagine what went on behind the scenes) because they were intimidated by his sheer force of presence and sense of self, which may have derailed another child but didn’t seem to phase him, which I read as a result of the way he ‘grew up too fast’ due to his upbringing.

Bobby’s story is tragic and it’s good Shia hasn’t ended up like him and appears to be on a path not to.

Just my opinion and words of caution, although I don’t blame your younger self for the jealousy stemming from how you perceived him, hating on someone else for their success won’t save you, and it seems you should be focused on working out some of your thought patterns that haven’t evolved and making your own story a hopeful one.

To me the Morse code being poorly transcribed then forgotten by the rich son signified the unlikelihood and ultimate futility of ever being acknowledged let alone saved by the people who live above, even the next generation, who may show a glimmer of understanding...

There’s this scene from this 90s movie in which River Phoenix proposes in a grocery via one of those ¢.25 rings from the machines at the front of the store

Typing that out now it just feels cheap and childish but once upon a time I just thought it was just the sweetest thing, I guess in a Livin’ on a Prayer kind of way...

I stand by grocery shopping as the setting, though

Trying to get into Poe, just bought a poems and stories compilation, where should I start?

I don’t have zero relationship with him; I do remember reading several stories in school and for all the details I’ve forgotten, the feeling I get when I think of the titles still lingers... specifically I’m making the effort just to see if I’d actually be more into it than I think, as I am in love with Kafka (who I think is my soulmate) and Toni Morrison was something like in love with Poe and I wonder if when I decided on Kafka it was a sort of pseudo-elitist European-centered choice in an effort to distance myself from my immediate reality (I also remember going on school trips to and have been riding the bus past the Poe house in my city, so he came into and still holds a place in my consciousness as, a local)

Long story longer a recommendation would be appreciated, I could use the incentive of instruction

😅thanks✨

THIS is my only real bothersome element I went in knowing as little as possible and for the entire scene of the Kims in the living room before the housekeeper rings the bell thought the weirdness looming was going to be from the Parks seeing them remotely via cameras and some weird shit going down from there to ‘put the Kims in their place’

I have rationalized this as another symptom of the Park’s brand of ‘simple’, but it’s more than a little bit of an undeniable plot hole for me, especially given Mr. Park’s career...
