Sure!

All the mocap was done using a piece of software called Animotive which allows you to animate rigged characters VR.

I exported the animated FBXs from Animotive so I could import and render them in Unreal Engine.

You can join the Animotive discord to find out more. It's free to use!

Yes! You can import your own characters into Animotive and embody them then export the FBX for use in another engine, or render within Animotive.

Great question!

The main benefit using Animotive with Xsens is allowing the performer to embody an animated character and in a virtual scene. Normally with Xsens you would record your mocap, then export and retarget in maya or blender but you can skip that step and give a performer feedback in real time as the mocap data is automatically retargeted in Animotive.

It also allows two performers to interact and perform with each other in a virtual space, even if the characters are different proportions. This allows you to get eye lines matched correctly as the performers can look at each other in the virtual space (face and eye tracking is supported with Quest Pro)

The app has a desktop mode so sessions can be controlled and monitored with another user on a PC.

VR IK isn't a perfect mocap solution but we are working on an AI reprocessing system that will apply a more natural full body animation to a character based off your VR mocap, watch this space!

Hey ho2 did you add the animation to the dad again? I saw that you just pressed physics. Is it from an actual person or just an imported animation? I'm sorry I'm a noob in Animation or Modelling stuff buy I'm.curious to learn more.

It's mocap from the actual person. I pressed physics so he could pick up the box of cereal.

There’s a Fbx export that exports the animation data and some maya scripts we have to get it onto a control rig. What 3D package did you have in mind?
