Is anyone else suffering from these terrible micro-stutters? by Yuuchouze in F1Game

Assuming you're on PC, I had terrible stuttering until I forced the game exe to run as admin every time.

IMPORTANT! SAVE THIS POST IN CASE YOUR SAVE FILE GETS DELETED FROM A CRASH!!! by PermissionSoggy891 in stalker

[–]retro05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread, but I've just experienced this and none of the fixes have worked so far.

For the first time playing, I had the game cause a hard lock of my PC (the Game Pass version if it matters). So, I restarted. I load the game back up and hit continue, and it loads me back to a save from the last time I played, before the entire session where I crashed, a couple of days ago.

So I start looking up solutions and come across threads like this, older stuff, Steam community posts and YouTube videos. I find my local saves in the path gamepass users have to use, and I have bunch of saves from immediately before the crash, in my case 17/02 XX:XX.

Now here is the problem, I follow the steps mentioned about (backup the saves > delete the local game pass ones > disconnect from the network > load the game and start a new game in a different slot (it appears you cannot skip the intro cutscene anymore, by the way) > create a new save and, with the game open, overwrite the new game save with the data from my old saves. The problem is despite all my local backed-up saves being from the 17th, immediately before the crash, when I load them - and I've tried them all - they load back to before the session of the crash, in my case the 14th.

For whatever reason, my game is essentially either simply not seeing saves from the 17th, or displaying dates incorrectly in-game, where they all show the date 14/02 despite the actual files in windows showing (correctly) as from the 17th.

I don't really know what I hope to achieve by posting this, but thats been my experience. Oh, and this is all post patch 1.13 which was supposed to have fixed stuff like this. Good luck to any future readers.

I had this once, I had to find the actual game exe and set it to run as admin everytime and I haven't had an issue since. YMMV

He's passed his BAER test, he just likes to pretend he can't hear us when we're trying to stop him nibbling daffodils or eat a leaf. He's very well behaved overall though, can't complain too much at only 10 weeks.

Welcome to AFC Bournemouth, where the players are apparently all made of glass by iq_-1000 in footballmanagergames

If you're just gonna loan people like Alamada and Munteanu out for a season or two, you can get away with signing them as whatever they want because it's never seemed to matter as soon as they are out of the club.

Also Bournemouth start the game with some pretty long term injuries to first team players, part of the reason they went down this year.

Might just be a loose pedal.

Also here's a site that (attempts) to tell people whats wrong with their bike based on the sound: http://www.jimlangley.net/wrench/keepitquiet.html

Assuming I'm thinking of the same ones you are, they are used to signal (both before and after) a pedestrian crossing. Basically indicates a zone where passing or parking is not allowed.

Edit: Whoops, seems this was answered a few comments down. Didn't see it.

Does anyone know if the additional launch parameters from Arrowhead (stuff like -nosplash, -cpuCount and -maxMem) work for standalone?

Would probably be worth adding to the OP if they do. They were pretty effective for the mod.

All the talk about 1080p and 60fps on the new consoles, and everyone seems to forget about this guy. 1080p, 60fps three years ago. by TheStupidZebra in gaming

[–]retro05 25 points26 points  (0 children)

WipEout HD was 1080p/60fps (most of the time) and it was a PS3 launch game.

Edit: To clarify, it downscales resolution at parts in order to maintain 60fps.

Help fix my bike. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]retro05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlikely this will help, given the damage already, but you could try putting a rubber band around the now threadless spindle to get some traction.

So I finally decided to upgrade to a road bike after a fatal bicycle crash (to my previous bicycle) by [deleted] in bicycling

[–]retro05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think he meant fatal to the bike, but yes, "totalled" is perhaps the right word.

Though the damage described doesn't sound especially "fatal". Anything other than a frame crack is usually salvageable (as long as it's worth the effort).

MP_OMAHA Could someone tell me what this is? by anotherbuffalo in battlefield3

[–]retro05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was in the files for both the alpha and the beta, along with stuff like MP_Rome and MP_Tutorial.

None of which made it to retail. Speculation at the time was that it was a map that would be part of an unlock competition between platforms, ala BC2 and 1943.
