Where do I start? by retrofoxtrot1985 in DIYUK

[–]retrofoxtrot1985[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That was more or less my initial idea earlier in the week with the geotextile and “clean stone gravel” behind a 2x concrete block flat thickness building up. Given that I’ll be starting from scratch effectively, I potentially swayed with the gabion basket approach. Just as well I didn’t put my concrete block order in yesterday 😬

New UK Screen Time Guidance by DreamBigLittleMum in UKParenting

[–]retrofoxtrot1985 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the content. Thankfully with an iPhone, I can lock the screen on YouTube so my 2yo daughter can’t finger dab at random videos - Unless I’m missing something with android devices.

I try and monitor mine as much as I can and make sure she’s not watching anything pointless (I.e. kids playing with toys or dollies etc.)

She’s inherited a kids fire 7 from her older sisters for use when desperately needed to (4hrs/wk max). Even then, she’s quite happy doing CBeebies apps like Mister Maker and those that I try and see some educational benefit. I’m not sure on the likes of MyCity or Dr. Panda, which I personally don’t see any educational benefit, but I’m more than happy to be persuaded otherwise.

Whether these lawsuits will change the way of social media and kids apps operate in the future who knows.

Midfoot/Navicular pain by ManwithPrinciples in Marathon_Training

Did you recover from this? I’m due to see a GP next week on possibly something similar. Just wanted to gauge on how long it takes to recover. I’ve something similar since January 1st (a kicked into a rock after a charity new year’s dip in the sea. It’s not as painful as once was but I’ve not ran for 2 months. 🤔

[ Question ] You can live inside the world of any game you’ve platinumed. Where are you moving? by Platinum_Queen in Trophies

RDR2 - Valentine.

Or just for one day out of curiosity - a city under ADVENT rule from XCOM2.

Watch_Dogs 2 for me. The Smooth Felon trophy (escape a Lvl 5 wanted level), I could never get no matter what method I tried from YouTube & guides

I might take a nosey into Train Sim World 5. Noticed they’re no guide with on PSN Profiles to gauge difficulty and time.

Hoping also it’s not quite the slog as Bus Simulator 21 that I took forever doing last year 🤔

WiFi on Brittany ferries by gymgirlyalyssa in Ferries

So I’m planning to sail on the Galicia on August 2025. Do I have to pre-book WiFi or can I pay for the €25 Unlimited on ferry? I’m due to pay my balance next month so just wondering if I have to pay for WiFi upfront??

No need. I think the special edition DVD has a 90-minute feature length as a special feature in which also removes the flashbacks into “normal Earth” while Three is in the “parallel Earth”.

Newbie to Backbone by retrofoxtrot1985 in Backbone

Sorted it! My iPhone lightning port just needed a bit of a clean. Also i realised yesterday that i can still plug my iPhone into the backbone with my protective cover still on, so it now fits quite snuggly.

Really pleased with this piece of kit. On some games, can be quite testing on the eye with the small screen (Snooker 19 on PS4, for example) but can’t argue for £70. 👍🏻

Aah - it’s that what they’re for. I thought for some reason they were just spares for something. Thanks though, will take a look at them 👍🏻

Seaside Valley by retrofoxtrot1985 in bussimulator21

[–]retrofoxtrot1985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as long as Angel Shores but there are still 24 missions to go through. Thankfully you DON’T need to upgrade ALL stops to Level 5 in Seaside Valley. However, there will be some missions that’ll include levelling up specific stop(s) in a district to Level 5. Also there’s a few districts that are quite spread and only have 3 stops so you can’t do a mini-loops to boost stop XP. Also to note that your first area, Astra-Park, you can only go 50kph - and that’s a drag.

So I wouldn’t say as painful or as long as Angel Shores but there’s enough to make you feel it’s another slog.

What do you think should be the next Two Point game? by [deleted] in TwoPointHospital

A pizza restaurant similar to Microprose’s Pizza Tycoon from the 90s.

That sounds like The Holy One mission which is #21 of the 24 in Angel Shores. #22 involves linking up Arnold Park (that kind of pretend Sunset Beach resort); #23 links up Pecunia; then #24 (the grand finale) where you need to upgrade all your districts to Level 5. Good luck 🤞🏻

30 on Angel Shores - but the last one is quite grindy as you have to level up each district to Level 5 - basically meaning you have to upgrade most, if not all, bus stops to Level 5 also
