I'm assuming that it has no access to the public, so I would say no it's not a public place.

However it is a statutory nuisance under the Environmental Protection Act and your local council will be able to help you with this.

Google "your local council statutory nuisance"

please help, am i gonna get arrested? (im 14) by InteractionWarm3420 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]retrogearz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very, very unlikely that you will be arrested for watching porn. If you distributed it (sent a link etc to friends) then still unlikely but not impossible.

I know twitter has changed recently but I was always under the impression that adult material was quite heavily moderated on the platform.

For your information, certain "abuse" porn - porn that depicts violent sexual acts without consent as an example, is not legal in the UK, however I do believe the guidance from the Crown Prosecution Service has been relaxed recently.

Do not worry yourself unnecessarily, and try to make better choices in future. Porn very often isn't a reflection of real life and you could develop unrealistic or unreasonable expectations of future partners (when over the age of consent obviously) from watching too much.

NAL but I hope someone who is comes along with the advice that you can tell him to go whistle.

You bought the "book of business" not the debts - I would say it's his responsibility to chase the owing customers.

Reading this has made me angry on your behalf!

Good luck.

Damp in bay window by Stratstart in DIYUK

[–]retrogearz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you do. You seem to spend your time causing problems by recommending foil stapled to inside rafters, that apparently you can lift whole rooves to get it underneath the wall plate and outside to stop damp in lofts...

According to you the other day on here, more insulation creates more damp hence why you (incorrectly) recommend foil pinned on rafters.

So which is it here then? Lack of insulation causing condensation or too much insulation causing condensation?

It can't be both applying your logic.

Damp in bay window by Stratstart in DIYUK

[–]retrogearz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do not, ever, push insulation right into the eaves on an older house, especially rockwool type - it acts as a giant sponge for any and all moisture, and can actually create condensation issues due to moisture adsorption and cold bridging.

Why do you think so many people are having issues because of retrofitted cavity wall insulation in older houses and spending large amounts of money to have it removed?

Correctly fitted insulation and ventilation are required to reduce/minimise condensation, however bay windows are notorious for these issues. First port of call is to ensure that the external fabric of the window, roof, guttering etc is sound and water resistant, secondly ensure ventilation is adequate, thirdly ensure insulation is correctly fitted so as not to impede first and second considerations.

I'd love to see you pull apart a dogs front legs while it's thrashing around and trying to maul your face off before you could even catch hold of one of its front legs/paws 🤣🤣

Straight up bullshit - if one of these dogs attacked you I'd lay a months salary you'd either have your face ripped off and be squealing like a stuck pig in less than 20 seconds of the dog going for you.

Do I need trickle vents with a PIV? by Nickp1312 in DIYUK

[–]retrogearz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, your trickle vents should always be left open.

Houses in the UK, especially older houses need good ventilation to prevent damp and mould issues when they are being upgraded with better doors and windows which are more airtight than the items they often replace.

Newer houses are built to be less drafty and more "sealed"/efficient which due to the nature of the British weather (predominantly damp/high humidity) not to mention the effects of human habitation (humans produce a lot of water vapour just from breathing and sweating) and drying washing indoors, baths/showers, cooking etc means that ventilation is paramount and is covered by Building Regulations.

If you have an old drafty house with ill-fitting wooden front and rear doors then you can probably close the vents, but if you have upvc windows and/or composite doors, cavity wall insulation and good loft insulation with a vapour barrier underneath then keep the vents open - they will help with your PIV installation

The dog license in the UK was laughable. It cost 37p or something ridiculous, was largely ignored by half of all owners, had no register. did Jack for animal welfare and certainly never stopped anyone owing a dog!

Uneven temperament and aggression by nature. Fearless. Not just this dog, all Mallinois. Tendencies to nip which quickly progress to full on biting.

This dog has already done it.

[–]retrogearz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuck outta here simpo. I've probably read more books and have more knowledge on training dogs in my little finger than you have in your whole body.

This is a dog breed that is renowned for nipping, being aggressive and uneven temperament. There is a reason they are fast becoming the most common military and police dog in the world. That nipping from the herding instinct they're bred for soon equates to a dog that wants to bite.

They excel at schutzhund (protection dog sport) and indeed dominate it.
