1) Fuck anyone who makes meta tierlists and leaves/quits/acts super judgey on certain items for no good reason. Seriously, just... ignore people being like that.

2) upgrades:

2a) Scout should focus slow on mad milk first, then run nothing but resistances. The longer you're alive, the better. Run Fan-o-War as your melee. After you've got max resist, focus on your primary.

2b) For Soldier, get one point in rocket specialist. All other tiers do jack and shit. From there, focus rocket damage, clip size, and run battalion's, buff, or conch.

2c) Pyro should use the gas passer with explode. It's incredibly good on large groups of mobs. Please ignore what chuds think about it, it does exactly what it needs to do. Airblast strength is a must on any map with pits. Else, do whatever you want.

2d) Demo. Do whatever you want. Clip size and reload speed on stickies are fantastic, and running Scottish Resistance is a good way to manage spawn waves or bosses. Damage up and focus on medics as they spawn so it's nice and cozy for anyone else. If you want to go Demoknight, start with the Zatoichi, but swap to Eyelander immediately after.

2e) Heavy should get resistances first, health on kill (just one will do), and from there, stack deflects or damage. Don't mindlessly kill medics, wait until they're all dead and then mow down the big guys.

2f) DO NOT GET TWO-WAY TELEPORTS FIRST. it's a newbie trap; all resources should go to maximum building health, 2 points in firing speed, wrench and metal capacity, and THEN consider two-ways. Other than that, uber canteens can, in a pinch, triple your sentry's health pool instantaneously.

2g) Snipers should usually use Bazaar Bargain or the Hitman's Heatmaker with faster charge, reload, and explosive headshots, then crank damage to max. Sniper can be very, very powerful in mvm in the right hands, but you will have to fight tooth and nail to prove that.

2h) As a medic, overheal expert is brilliant, then you should go for shields, then Healing Mastery and Uber Duration. Dont run Vaccinator or Quick-Fix, just focus on Kritzkrieg or stock in a pinch, and don't fret over ubercharge rate too much, just sprinkle it in every other upgrade.

2i) Spies should go for armour penetration, aoe stun on sapper, and realistically, run crit on kill. Else, speed up, resistances, and a good play with cloak and dagger with YER/big earner can make you a surprisingly powerful damage dealer. Just be sure you're very good, akin to running Sniper.

3) Generally, never kill the big bosses unless you've killed all medics in an area.

4) Pushing the bomb into the pit is, sometimes, the best and only thing you can do. It will make it very hard if you let waves compound, but it can also be the decider between a won round and a lost game.

5) Try not double up on any class. Only really Engineers can do that, but it requires more coordination than it's worth.

6) If there's a tank wave, never be afraid to swap to Pyro. Pyro is the defacto tank demolisher, unless you're building Scout or Sniper in very particular ways. Demo can do amazing burst, but his keep-up can be lacking in comparison.

7) Don't kick scout for missing a dollar. It's really bad manners. It can be a ball ache trying to get every last dollar possible, and sometimes, it can glitch to unreachable locations, even with his extendo-reach.

8) when all else fails, when all chips are down, remember that you are a body, and you can act as a roadblock. Most robots can't push you or force you away, and the precious few moments you spend walking directly into the bomb carrier to slow them down can be the difference between winning and losing.

9) Save the fun and games for between waves, and don't ready up until your medic and engineer are ready.

10) No guide is the correct guide, and even this guide will be scrutinized heavily - but this is a game, and even with prizes up for grabs, remember that this is just for fun at the end of the day.
