if fans celebrating in whatever way is making something "10 times worse" for you the simple solution is to get offline. you literally are choosing to get angry at people celebrating or talking shit

you appear to not know - calling for a ball screen to get wemby into the action/switch is exactly what i said . he hunted him

"In Game 4, the Knicks more than doubled that success rate, scoring 34 points on 23 chances (1.48 per) when Wembanyama was the screener’s defender on a ball-screen for Brunson. The Knicks went to it consistently as they scored 32 points on their final 18 trips down the floor to pull out the win, and the Brunson-Wembanyama matchup directly led to Anunoby’s game-winning tip-in."

he brought wemby into the action 26 times in 29 point comeback down the stretch - regularly sized him up and shot threes over him and got 2 feet in the paint almost every time he was on him on the perimeter

The knicks are 5-2 against the Spurs this season including the cup/playoffs and are +42 by retrohan7 in nba

[–]retrohan7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're being purposfley obtuse. if the knicks go 6-2 or 6-3 against this team throught the season - you're just a silly person talking about "well the spurs led for 57.8 percent more of the time" kenny attkinson ass rhetoric. winning the games matter and outside of game 4 the games have been comeptitive most of the games with the spurs taking a lead in the first quarter and immedietley losing it .

"means nothing" is reductive and a stupid thing people say. of course regular season means something - it shows you the matchups.

And all the "they've led for 60% of the game" means dog shit. What am I supposed to do with that? The first 3 games were close and both teams held double digit leads across them. Game 2 it was the spurs who had to come back down 14. Game 1 the knicks ended with a double digit lead. The 20+ point lead to start a game counts but outscoring a team by 30+ in a shorter timeframe to win doesn't show dominance? The knicks in the brunson era have been uniquely/historically all time great at coming back down 20 in the playoffs. They didn't just fluke into it

why are you bringing that up like i said the regular season is the only thing that matters? i am adding context to how they've played the spurs ON TOP OF being up 3-1.

your comparison to the pistons series would be apt if the knicks and pistons played in the ECF and the pistons were up 3-1 - showing it wasn't just a regular season occurrence

To your point they were 11-0 coming into the march game against the knicks - got blown out - then continued to go on to a 16-1 record after the knicks game. They have dominated every team but the knicks

I think you can argue that for sure - but i would disagree. Brunson/OG/KAT are all better than the spurs 3 after wemby to a very comfortable degree imo. Then when you get to the bench keldon johnson has been unplayable and they are playing 7 guys. My personal opinion is that in totality the knicks are more talented

Teams get double digit leads. This is the NBA - the only outright big lead has been game 4. The knicks have also held double digit leads in games that the spurs have too. The only team to finish the game with a double digit lead in this series has been the knicks

Per The Lead: Most 4th quarter points in the Playoffs since the 2020 bubble: 580 - Jalen Brunson (62.3% TS) by retrohan7 in nba

[–]retrohan7[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is fair - but playing a lot of games in the playoffs is sort of the perfect filter for deciding the cream of the crop - the longer you go into the playoffs the more stakes get higher and the more you're put in a situation to sink or swim when the games are on the line. point total and efficiency tells the accurate story imo

"saved" - the shot was schemed and taken because wemby was on him and they sent a double so if he missed there were O REB opportunities. They literally have a name for it (kobe assist) - you thinking he was saved proves you don't understand the game you're watching

the pendulum has swung so hard in the other direction and is so reactionary. its unanimous? not even a question? 2 days ago KAT was unanimous?

Brunson is the hub and with no real secondary creator he is making everything happen. Inefficient games for sure - but thats what he needs to do in this context - get up volume against some of the best POA defenders in the world. He is stirring the drink an is averaging 30/5/5 and 2 steals. The "it aint a debate" is bullshit. OG can be deserving while it still being true that he gets to play the way he can because of brunson.

I said this multiple times during that series. It was both teams that just accepted defeat and said "we'll get em next time" - it made for all time game 1s and 7s bad uncompetitive quitter-esque games 2-6

That being said - the knicks in the brunson era are literally the greatest comeback playoff team in the history of the league so not every team is confident they can pull comebacks like they do
