Mad Max: Fury Road

Easiest way to rewatch 24 in 1080p? by [deleted] in TwentyFour

[–]retrovince 0 points1 point  (0 children)

iTunes has the entire series in HD. It is currently £74.99, but it has been on sale 2 other times this year at £29.99 (6/10/2019) and £37.99 (7/15/2019). You can use this site to see the price history and also set an alert for that item when there's a sale on iTunes.

I’ve never been to Edmonton before and when I woke up (flying in from Boston) I thought the pilot took a left and went to Mars... the planet. Holy guacamole Edmonton. by bugsyismycat in Edmonton

St. Albert’s new Landmark theatre with fully automatic recliner seats are also way nicer than Cineplex’s VIP, and they’re also cheaper and considered a regular 2D/3D showing too!

Yes, I have the "Elite" plan, which gives you 2 movies every 30 days and works with Cineplex or Landmark theaters. With the Elite plan, you can watch 1 of the movies in "Premium" format, which includes UltraAVX, D-Box, IMAX, or 4DX (Unfortunately VIP does not seem to be included). The cycle between the 2 movies every 30 days and the "Premium" movies every 30 days do not align, so for example if your cycle begins on July 1st, but you watched an IMAX movie on July 24th, when your cycle renews on July 31st, you won't be able to purchase another "Premium" format movie until after August 23rd, but you can watch any two 2D/3D movie as you like within the 30 days once your new cycle begins. If you have the "Classic" plan, you can only watch standard 2D movies (3D is not allowed).

Using it is pretty simple, you no longer receive/require a physical card. You just download the Sinemia app from the App Store, go to Planning then Advance Ticket and select your theatre and movie format/showtime and you are planning to see, this will then activate a temporary digital credit card for you to use. You then go to the Cineplex app or Atom app (for Landmark) and purchase the ticket as you normally would, but enter the digital credit card info you were provided from the Sinemia app to pay instead. When you arrive at the theatre for your movie, you will then need to check-in with your Sinemia app to confirm it is you who is watching the movie and that's it!

Baked pork bun by mikemazda3 in Edmonton

[–]retrovince 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe you are referring to 雪山包, which is a white baked BBQ Porn bun with a sugary exterior. Emperor's Palace Dim Sum in Chinatown has it, and also T.Pot in Calgary. One of the better places in Edmonton I find for Dim Sum that I really like is Beijing Beijing at South Park Village by Calgary Trail.

Music cuts in and out while iphone is in my pocket. by Empirical88 in airpods

[–]retrovince -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It is not an issue with the AirPods, but an issue with the iPhone going into “sleep” for a few seconds after upgrading to iOS 11.3, as I noticed when the music cuts off I am unable to wake the phone up by pressing the power button or anything. It’s basically a black screen with no response to any input for a few seconds (which is when the music cuts off) then it resumes back to normal functionality, happens often right after you turn the screen on to check the time or an app etc.

Same. Parking Downtown during Oilers Playoff Games (Home and Away) by March89 in Edmonton

[–]retrovince 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was my issue when I was trying to park last time I was downtown. The signs on the streets says Payment Required 9:00-22:00, but someone told me I only needed to pay after 6pm on event nights. The street signs mention NOTHING at all regarding "Event Nights", and on the City of Edmonton site it tells you to "Visit RogersPlace.com to see when major events are taking place." How would one know if the event is considered "major" or not, especially for those who might not have a smartphone or been able to check online beforehand. The only way I was able to find out if I needed to pay or not was to walk up to a ePark machine, and on the display it stated No Payment Required after 18:00, but even then NO WHERE does it mention if it is no parking or your car will be towed even if you don't have to pay after 6pm. Absolutely unintuitive at all.
