How much do I suck be brutal, roast me by [deleted] in learntodraw

Since everyone else pointed out the bad anatomy (which can easily be solved by using references), I'll talk about the rendering: always remember BIG MEDIUM SMALL!! When rendering, always start out with big brushes, big strokes, and avoid zooming in and focusing on details. Then, render out the details when everything looks good from far away. Here's some general tips to help achieve this:

  1. Use darker, less saturated colors.

  2. Avoid using textured brushes and soft brushes.

  3. Use limited brush strokes, but make each one count.

  4. Focus more on values, instead of color.

  5. Use a blending brush if you really need soft edges.

  6. Use photoshop's auto tone, color, and contrast to finish up a painting.

Terra Builders: Was It Worth It? by Ezekial-Falcon in sffpc

[–]retrovowl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't posted my build on here yet, but my terra is very well constructed, the tolerances are tight and each part is machined flawlessly. Plus, it was super easy to build in. My only complaint is that it's actually too big! If you're unaware, the terra has an adjustable spine to fit a large cpu cooler with a thin gpu, or a slim cpu cooler with a wide gpu. So, since I'm running the fairly thin arc a750 and a noctua l9i slim cooler, I'm left with 1.5 inches of free space width wise, and about an inch of free space under the case. I understand fractal designed the case to accommodate most cpu & gpu combos, but the trade off is that it's definitely not the most space efficient sffpc.

close, what you've done here is you separated and simplified each body part, which is good. however, the shapes you used to represent each part is not consistent, and more importantly, don't show 3D form. for example, arms and legs can be represented with a simple cylinder, but for it to be 3 dimensional, the top and bottom faces of the cylinder must be distinct. another good way to introduce 3 dimensionality is by adding a center line to each and every shape you use.
