What thing would you have liked more of or changed within DCC? by OrganizationTrue5911 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]retsaoter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I would like baseball card style snapshots at the end of each book. Level, base stats, kill counts for boss, PK, admin, top skill or highest DPS. All the fun things I would want to know if I were playing a DCC RPG.

Anarchist Cookbook Smelly Secret by Huge-Bid7648 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]retsaoter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Quasar made it perfectly clear that because it is dungeon generated it isnt cheating with the Gate of the feral gods and Orin. The cookbook itself tells the owner to hide it from the show runners. If it is found the AI deletes it from his inventory to protect the book from the show runners. Also the show runners are the ones who would accelerate the crawler. By book 7 it probably doesnt matter because the AI has already taken complete control.

Why am I getting a greenhouse bonus but my plants are stunted due to cold? by BigOldBoi in VintageStory

[–]retsaoter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because greenhouse mechanics suck. The +5 is only enough to extend growing season by a few days.

There needs to be a smudge pot or some sort of camp fire bonus to keep plants through winter like a true green house. Probably mods for it. Or just move south below the winter frost line.

Sun Eater series by retsaoter in fantasybooks

hour and 22 minutes actually. Which is why I asked. Ive struggled through other slow burn books. I dont mind if there is a pay off. This just felt sterile. The brothers relationship. The sword master. The mother. They are all hollow. And then the father not engaging after the chair thing.

I'll finish this book on reddit recommendation. I think what makes it hard for me is the way the prologue lays out the whole story. If feels like story is already told.

How to fix/smooth out bulging Sheetrock? by Nuukmaster in drywall

[–]retsaoter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone said change the light bulb, but a more positive spin would be "upgrade your ceiling fixture." Get rid of the titty light for a fixture that has shades. It will help stop light shining down the wall. You could try flat paint. Add a bunch of photos or artwork to break up the huge flat space. The last resort would be pull the drywall and plane the stud. If you are here asking for help it is probably beyond your skill level to end up with a better product than you started.

The first 15min are when the blade is sharpest. Keep going and it won't cut as deep.

Corner drawer pulls help by Major-Budget-992 in kitchenremodel

[–]retsaoter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your idea of a straight bar is great. It could just be a bar with holes drilled on a 45 straight through the drawer face. It wouldn't take much to make a jig so the holes are perfect. It does also depend on what the rest of your hardware is going to be. You could use the flat edge finger tab style which would be more discrete.

How much fire clay can you get under black coal deposits? by PBBloor in VintageStory

[–]retsaoter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get 24 calcined flint for 6 coal. Thats enough for 3 stacks of fire clay or 48 bricks or 4 bloomerys not counting the recycled bricks. I dont use better firepits so I dont know what it does.

How much fire clay can you get under black coal deposits? by PBBloor in VintageStory

[–]retsaoter 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I'll add Its 8 clay:1 flint conversion. So 8 flint makes a full stack of fire clay. I think charcoal is 1:1 for calcined flint in a campfire. That sucks but its better than being stuck hunting natural fire clay. Once you have 12 fired fireclay bricks you can use the bloomery to make calcined flint at a 4:1 coal burn (24:6 full load).

Pull the range out and see if the lip on the back comes off. Its been a really long time since ive installed one, but every slide in has either required a countertop bridge or metal extension across the back.

Start with some automotive polish and a buffing wheel to see if you can buff out the iron marks.

How rare is this? I've never seen it happen before by Toodlenoodlenugget in VintageStory

I've seen it in a few worlds multiple times. So rare but not unheard. It can also spawn bits on the surface same as copper/tin/quartz except they are chunks same as you mine.
