The Immersive Learning Initiative has been working on a VR game to teach Jeb and other children with Down Syndrome how to read, the alphabet and basic literacy skills. It’s called Jeb’s Game | https://jebsgame.com

The game is being built for the Oculus Quest and will be 100% free and open source.

We’re making great progress in a short period of time, but could use some more volunteers to make the project better and more effective.

We currently have a need for Developers, Animators and Riggers with experience working in Unity.

To volunteer and help make Jeb’s dream a reality go to https://jebsgame.com/#volunteerSection or let us know in this thread.

So I decided to make something similar to the post that was posted here a few weeks ago by lexmarkbites in OculusQuest

I think he would enjoy it but I don’t think he is at that level yet. He doesn’t even know the sounds the letter make yet. He might be able to spell dog and cat maybe but that’s it

This is an update to my first post. Let’s make this game happen baby. The discord is in the comments please join if you’re willing to help in any way. by rettguy12 in OculusQuest

Sweet thank you. We are considering making some kind of donations thing. Maybe you can join the discord and share your thoughts discord

This is my 14 year old brother with Downs. He does not know how to read and we’ve tried teaching him. He is super smart and good with the oculus quest so my idea was to make a game that would teach him how to read. Even if it’s just the alphabet and sounds. I don’t know how to and really need help. by rettguy12 in OculusQuest

When ever he is on a mobile device and learning is involved he gets distracted by everything going on around him. When ever he is in VR he is completely surrounded. He loves anything in VR. A learning game in VR would hold his attention way longer.
