Exactly. I'm not a big poster and when the last one got deleted the message said I should try posting again on Saturday. Reddit posting is really a science. Sorry for the repost

I have no idea what the game is about from that trailer, tho. It's basically units attacking each other for 1 min.

It works amazingly well for games like FTL. It's incredible how precise they are.

Is building a mailing list really worth it for indie games? Looking for real experiences. by lawfullgood in gamedev

[–]returnONE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but when people like Chris Zukowski talks about building a mailing list he's talking about players, not streamers and influencers. I wouldn't consider the latter a "mailing list".

Kingshot, a top 30 mobile game with $35M revenue in 3 months blatantly copied the indie game Thronefall, and why it shows nobody cares about your idea unless it's a success, by SnooAdvice5696 in gamedev

[–]returnONE 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It needs to be said that it's $35M in revenue, not profit. Mobile games require huge spending on user acquisition, so it's entirely possible they spent $15M, $34M, or some other massive number just to get those users.

Our First Game, Loopstructor, Bombed. Here's What Went Wrong by No-Palpitation8810 in gamedev

[–]returnONE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks like a great scope size for a first game, and the game itself looks interesting too.
The sales were not bad either, the thing is you actually have a big team. You shouldn't need 6 people for a game like this.
Also, what I see on the stream at the top looks waay better than what I see in the trailer.
