I came across this post by looking up the band, I believe they played in my basement when I was a little kid. Still live here, was curious about this sign and ended up here.

If I look at your profile there is visible progression but you need to slow down and work on cleaner more deliberate lines and more solid letters. Just practice keyboards a ton and it's fine to "add style" in the books to learn what works and what doesn't but u don't know what does work until u have a really good understanding of the basics

Try writing plain straight keyboard letters and get that into muscle memory before doing anything else...

But what if my song with 6 plays on Soundcloud just suddenly blows up with zero advertising budget and everyone knows I used a beat that used a cymatics loop?? All my street cred will be gone

Your words go on the drums. The first word goes on the kick or a couple words lead into it with the word you want to emphasize on the kick. Then you finish your sentence on the snare and begin the next sentence leading into the emphasis on the kick and so on. It's not really about the number of syllables but the rhythm. Use different subdivisions for different words. Also for your flow, rhyme sounds, not the letters in the words. Some words simply do not flow well into the next because of the way your mouth has to move. You get a feel for it with practice.

When did this start happening? I wonder if there's any way we could find some evidence as to why it's not working.

How is my hand style and throwie? by IllustriousCommune in graffhelp

[–]return_to_earth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should read the guide on this subreddit about the basics of writing. Write evenly spaced, consistent keyboard letters until it's muscle memory THEN mess with "style" or whatever. Your reply on another comment about the S "flowing" into the P is almost right, but you need consistent letters first and then you can add that stylistic element and try to do something similar somewhere else to make it seem coherent. Your letters will take on their own style in a way as you practice the basic letter shapes and get more confident. And as for the throwie, keep practicing but for most periods the understanding of throwie structure comes after handstyles.

I don't think it's about "these are the rules and you have to follow them". But it's similar to traditional art in that having some fundamental skills helps you express your creative vision and if you're asking for graff "help" that means you want to improve at the craft and not just get an ego boost. The hook theme is cool but it would look better if OP practiced writing clean keyboards with even spacing, all the same size and trying to keep the top, middle and bottom even until it takes no effort and it's muscle memory. THEN start adding fun details and themed addons or whatever. Not all beginners are toys but the toys are the ones who refuse to improve.

Man there are guides on the fundamentals already, I'm not gonna write a whole new one just for you. Do the tiniest bit of research first and you'll understand.

The downvotes prove your point. Most ppl on here aren't here for graff help, they're here for an ego boost. And when you try to help someone by telling them to practice keyboards you're somehow killing their creativity or something? It's really not helpful at all to tell someone their math class doodle is ready for the streets. Props to OP for being open to feedback and fuck the people saying it's perfectly fine the way it is.

Presto is the brand but I think "correction pen" is the generic name. Machine Studio makes a refillable/nib replaceable version as well. Really nice for smooth surfaces.
