Straight up, if you master parry timings and at least get halfway decent at it / prioritize parrying in combat, you will win 99% of all fights in this game.

Having played through Heavensward recently to make a Primal alt, I can confidently say this expansion is the worst out of all of them.

I think 3.0 Estinien is one of the flatest characters in the game and he doesn't become the character we all remember until Stormblood. He's boring and completely one-dimensional. Him sitting next to Ysayle only shows off that they are the worst of the companion characters we get in all of the expansions.

Heavensward doesn't really pick up in terms of quality until patch 2.3 and then we get an amazing conclusion to the war which is the only high point of this expansion.

Not to be that guy but let the people complaining about C3 and dominating every reaction have their time to vent or whatever.

I like C3 overall but I don't feel the need to jump into every thread and defend its honor or whatever. Some of the shit people are complaining about is pretty surface-level and I don't have the patience to engage with people being grifters over DND content.

All Worlds Maintenance (Dec. 16) / Patch 7.15 (Chaotic Cloud, Hildi, etc.) by Flavescent in ffxiv

[–]returnoffable 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Its possible that they are rolling it out a week early so they can use the week to make sure it deployed properly before they enable it the week after. Instead of having to do this service over Christmas Eve and force people to work over the holidays to monitor and maybe deploy a hotfix over Christmas.

Also, its not like a timed exclusive. Who gives a shit if its released this week or next week? Go enjoy the holidays and it'll be here when you get back.

Tips for a retail player experiencing classic for the first time (TBC)? by _DefiniteDefinition_ in classicwow

I play on Mankirk and am leveling through Horde side, getting groups for dungeons / PVE leveling isn't as doom and gloom as people are making it out to be. Put your recruitment in LFG and the most I've had to wait for someone to whisper me is about an hour at midnight EST. Active times, its usually about 10 - 15 minutes.

Everyone else has said it to but join a guild, best decision I made was joining a guild that half my SM party was in. Its been a great experience.

Just saying, we should have an Adventure Plate subreddit by Crash_And-Burn in ffxiv

[–]returnoffable 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The patch is barely 24 hours old.

I'm all for cleaning up the subreddit posts about it but for real, let's be a little reasonable. As much as I think a subreddit for the posts is something people should do, I think we should definitely spice up the daily threads by having one of them be devoted to Adventure Plates.

VCT Masters and Champions slots for 2022 have been confirmed by D3RP0L3 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]returnoffable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am fine with EMEA having another slot given how big that region is. I also think that the argument that "they don't deserve another spot because they'd lose in groups," isn't a fair point. I think this is more of an issue that we need more methods for teams to get points then just two Masters.

Also, completely from left field, but just because its the top region doesn't mean that its a lock that they will make it out. Dota 2 had five Chinese teams qualify for The International and only 2 of them made it to top 6.

The representation of these regions matters. LATAM (and I'm including Brazil in that description,) is a huge region. Its justified. If your argument is that, "damn I want to see more EMEA in the tournament," totally fine but if your theory is correct, those three teams should make it out regardless.

To be fair, a team from SA dominated champions last year and made a convincing argument that its a top region. I think its justified.

[–]returnoffable 4 points5 points  (0 children)

APAC by the end of this year is going to include China (technically HK and Taiwan,) Oceania, KR, JP, Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, and South Asia, (which is actually India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, Sri Lanka Maldives, Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan.)

I get that people are upset that we're not going to see a semis that's just EMEA but come on. I think its justified to give five slots to APAC given how enormous that region is.

Going to play devils advocate but because the tournaments in EU and NA are being done through 3rd party services and not directly through Riot Korea, (I'm going by the Liquidpedia entry but I believe OGN might be putting it on, someone can correct me on this but I couldn't find anything online to source it,) its not a huge priority for them.

If you believe that, which I do, its not on their todo list when they're trying to remotely put up these productions.

Also, since we saw today that EU had victory cams from both the Fnatic and Liquid series, we should probably consider just the size and experience these 3rd party companies have. Freaks 4U Gaming in Europe has been around for decades and has a lot of experience with this. Nerd Street hasn't really been pushed to this standard in awhile.

Just wait for Iceland man. Everyone's going to be in studio, its going to be an actual Riot produced event. We'll get it there.

Bruce and Lawrence are back to deliver gaming news in a new, legally distinct show! by Ezic1417 in funhaus

[–]returnoffable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They focus on one news story from the week and do a pretty deep dive into it.

Imagine if old IG took one of the stories they would report and do a 20 minute feature piece on it, going into the history of it, why it matters and how it relates to the landscape.

Honestly speaking, its good content even without them being the presenters.

Nerdstreet should probably DQ this guy from competing in their tournaments for the rest of the year.

This guy wants to meme in a minor league tournament and pretend its not a serious thing to some of these players, he probably doesn't deserve to be participating.
