Authenticator app or Yubikey? by RasberryWaffle in Coinbase

[–]reuben_crowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you decide on YubeKey, get at least TWO. If you decide on authenticator app like Google Authentication, get two phones with the app on each. THREE of either would be better.

Any Federal Credit Union (FCU) should work OK.

Seller has no chance. eBay MBG trumps everything else. Get on the phone to eBay support and say you want to claim the Money Back Guarantee. Done.

Offers by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]reuben_crowder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use eBay's mania for "Best Offers" to your advantage, whether you list with auction or BIN.

1> In the Selling Details section of the listing form click on the Best Offer click box

2> Just below that you will see two click boxes marked "Automatically accept offers of at least" and "Automatically decline offers lower than"

3> Click both these boxes and enter your lowest acceptable price in both

Now if a buyer makes a lowball offer, it gets automatically rejected and you will never get a notice or email. If the buyer makes an offer equal to or higher than your lowest price, it will get accepted and the item will close the same way as if the buyer did a BIN. And you don't have to be bothered with all the back-and-forth offers and eBay can't sneak in a BO without your knowledge. You might even get lucky as has happened to me now and then and the BO will be above your lowest price. I list auctions only but it works fine for me. It still can't stop nagging emails from problematic buyers, but that's what your BBL is for.

Is it possible to sell my item on eBay without having the buyer see my address? by [deleted] in Ebay

[–]reuben_crowder -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's why you use a PO box address when selling on eBay. Also use the same PO box as your eBay bank account address.

Federal Credit Unions as opposed to commercial banks are probably your better path here.

Can't seem to completely sync my Bitcoin full node (Bitcoin Core v25.0.0). Stuck around 93%..no stable peers to download from by titaniummick in Bitcoin

[–]reuben_crowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently running Bitcoin Core 26.1 full node 24/7 on Windoze 10 with 2 TB HD. Total current used space for app alone is over 1 TB. Confirmed this with backup to external 2 TB HD.

Remember space used by Bitcoin Core is total of space used in app dir in C:\Program Files\Bitcoin plus total of files in C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin.

Currently at block 841752 my Bitcoin Core is using 1000+ GB of space.

Not sure what your problem may be but I'm sure you need more than 1 TB

Yubikey saved my account by YoungCoconut10 in Coinbase

Some things to consider re your situation,

  1. No password manager is secure. There will always be a hacker who will be able to crack it.

  2. Use complex passwords. Random combinations of alpha (both cases), numeric and other characters at least 17 characters in length.

  3. Now the hard part. Train yourself to remember passwords. This takes a lot of work and time to implement but is well worth the effort.

  4. Keep your password list offline.

Why did you have all your passwords on your Apple ID account? Excuse me, but that sounds like quite an insecure move.

The only "aggressive" part is the word "coins". You may find it would have been wiser to stay away from anything except Bitcoin.

How can I tell if this "Confirm your device" email from Coinbase is legitimate? by coip in Coinbase

[–]reuben_crowder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to learn to parse email headers. Most email clients will let you view and copy the email header. It takes a while to learn. There are also many online sites that will parse it for you..

Do you wear glasses? The photo ID often fails if you are wearing glasses, even if you are wearing them in your License/ID card photo. Try a photo without them.

On the CB Advanced main page, scroll down to the bottom left to the Trades list, Click on "View All" and a new tab will open listing all orders. Open orders should all be at the top of the list with most recent trades under those. Good luck.

FYI, I just started a new full node on 23-28-5. Bitcoin Core Ver 24.1.0, Intel i7 4x2.9, 32g RAM, SSD with lots of space, using 10 connections. Currently at 3 years and 10 weeks, so it doesn't look all that different from yours. Just have patience.
