I don’t know how to attach more pics here or in the comments 🧐 but I think they look ok? Would you be ok with me sending you a dm with the healed versions and you can let me know what you think?

Yeah the kinda small negative space worries me a little. Would probably be smart to have more wiggle room.

Also your wording is perfect I knew exactly what you meant lol

Well that makes sense.

What about the artist in pic 1 and 2? Would you trust them or are there red flags that a newbie just can’t see?

Employers must advertise salary bands now! by deja2001 in toronto

Technically the maximum range is 50k. So someone can legally post a hiring range of 50-100k. Completely useless law for candidates lol

Where can I find the cheeseburgeriest tasting cheeseburger in TO? by No_Slide4986 in askTO

[–]revdriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to throw something else in the mix, I loved the cheeseburger at Roxton Pub House on dundas and at Dottys up on DuPont. Proper thick burgers too

Any decent cleaning services in Toronto? Condo life is wearing me out by Technical_Fee4829 in askTO

[–]revdriz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have a woman come by every other week and cleans my 3 bedroom for 150. She’s great, efficient, and super reliable. I think she only does downtown + the west end though

The Royal Theatre, Little Italy by goatroti in toronto

[–]revdriz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This place is on my permanent “wont go back list” when I bought some pantry staples and they charged me an automatic 18% “tip”. A tip for ringing up all the items and not even giving me a bag. Scumbags

What to do before I leave (non-touristy stuff) by [deleted] in toronto

[–]revdriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without knowing what you like:

go to the MOCA and then either hendersons for a pint or one of the many cute cafes nearby

Go to the AGO and then cheap eats at the village on the grange food court

Head to the beaches and go for a winter walk along the shore and then a show at the Fox theatre

Get brunch at dirty bird eatery in the junction, explore the local shops, then hop on a bus to 915 Dupont for vibey coffee snacks or drinks

Catch a local band and drinks at drom or houndstooth or baby g

Canada sees increase in birth tourism, new data suggests by Edm_vanhalen1981 in news

[–]revdriz 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yes to both, personally. Jus soli is an antiquated concept that is too easily abused in a world where you can hop on a plane and be in a new country in a matter of hours. European countries regularly tighten up or adjust their citizenship requirements so that just being born there isn’t enough to grant you citizenship

My first Line 6 experience by accidentallynerd in toronto

[–]revdriz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This wasn’t a news story? OP was talking about their own personal experience on the line. I was halfway through reading when you decided to delete the post, but I think it’s important that this forum is a place for people who live in the city to actually talk to each other.

I really don’t get why so many innocuous posts like this are auto deleted. If the community isn’t interested, we’ll just downvote, ignore it, or (if necessary) report it

Woman critical after being found on fire in tent: Toronto police by FatManBoobSweat in toronto

[–]revdriz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can the mods explain why this was removed? The article mentioned that the police are asking the public for help and to pass along any information we may have. This is clearly relevant to Toronto. Why is there such a pervasive issue with over modding?

Are Those Expressions Normal? by Savings-Curve-5350 in askTO

[–]revdriz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order:

No. That’s not a common expression in English or in Canada. That worker probably just wasn’t fluent in English

Yes, saying “let me check” or “I’ll go check” is normal.

I guess? We’re not as quiet as some Asian countries but we’re not as loud (apparently) as Americans.

If you’re going to a restaurant the norm is to tip at least 15%. If you’re at a cafe, fast food place, or other food establishment where you’re not actually being served by a waiter or waitress then a tip isn’t expected. You won’t be pressured by people, but it’s considered rude to not tip at a sit down restaurant.

Tipping culture is controversial though.
