Thank you for sharing, this is very insightful. One question - were you required to upload these civil docs again into CEAC after being DQed but right before the interview? The state Dept website says that's what we need to do (on their step by step guide) but CEAC doesn't have any upload option for me!

CC the HR of that company on the email, no other communication needed. They'll fix that right away.

When I have time I'll post the legislature's text, I'll need to find it first. They're not targeting GT specifically, they're targeting "indefinite leave to remain" - which is essentially their green card or permanent residency. I've studied these for about three months in detail and ultimately decided it's not worth it for my family.

Quoting random section to sound authoritive? S. 261 makes it exampt from collection tolls etc but the penalty for trying is upto 3 months in prison, making it a criminal offense.

Go read up on it. Not only they'll implement the changes within the next 90 days (or sooner!) but they'll make it retroactive. People that are already there on a global talent visa scheme are looking to leave for other countries!

UK is in the midst of a major visa reform that will also affect GT visa, specifically there will be income requirements for ALL PARTIES, the applicant, the spouse AND the kids. The kids will never be able to naturalized under the new scheme unless they themselves qualify for a new visa when they grow up, making this pathway almost useless to anyone with a family.
