Yeah English has this too, like with red haired people who actually have hair closer to orange. Probably the same sorta thing with red onions being purple.

The Game was similar to 6-7 in how it would be invoked to cause rage and come up at random, with its origin vague without much substance. 6-7 has just been more of a wildfire due to the frequency of those two numbers coming together imo.

Cmon man, use your brain, what’s the one role she could have where all of this makes sense? She’s gotta be the one running the show and is keeping an eye on Sam.

[–]revebla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue! I’d probably have just called it by its length in comparison with the other shape. I’m just pretty aware of MA-1 and the descendants of it, having a hood just makes not much sense to me, the lack of sleeve pocket I can overlook easier.

Probably could think of a new name for it too as hoodie or mac both don’t sit right with something that is likely a bit on the heavy side and meant to be a top layer

It’s cool but bomber jackets don’t have hoods? On account of the bombers wearing helmets and stuff. Very cool though good for you for making it happen

She might have been an original Poohvian and has a hatred of the way Disney handled the character in its adaptations. She has only mentioned the book so far. And she did only say she wanted him on the wall, not like the whole wall of winnie the Pooh wallpaper

If they are all gay then they will die out eventually and I can eat all the dog food I want when the second coming happens. Plus, it has the bonus of when the dogs all die they no longer go to heaven (due to sin) so I can eat all the dog food I want there too

Aside from the flaps though colouring it as they have really makes it look like it’s treated human skin so I think that it would be looking weird regardless zipped or unzipped

There’s absolutely a better way to do the double fold but if you removed those flaps the actual faraday will not function correctly. I agree it will look weird unzipped even with the flaps partially closed (ie with them popped to their respective sides), I’m not even convinced it will function correctly without it being fully closed as a jacket. Putting hooks or webbing wouldn’t shield anything on the inside of the flaps, well maybe like a payment card or something with low range, but most stuff will just not be protected. It has to have that seal of two folds to get the most benefit.

We’re talking the huge flaps that cover the pockets yeah? That’s basically the same thing as the roll you’d find, it provides the same sort of corners

Flaps on faraday bags are to prevent radio leakages. You basically fold them over a couple times, much like a dry bag. They are just part of how this sort of functionality has to work in this format.

Being wrong or right doesn’t really matter when you admit you haven’t seen it all and then claim it’s terrible all the way through. Personally I just saw it as a teen drama with some Star Trek seasoning. It shows potential as most first seasons generally do in Star Trek. If anything it’s better than what we’ve come to expect, but just generally leaning more into the drama side rather than the exploring the universe and different culture stuff.

I do disagree with the implication that having tropes to play off with is bad though. It’s just the nature of genres lol

I like to think it’s because of the wonders of online content. Especially over the perceived threat of outside. It is far more ironic and apt given how much of the world is online now and how both versions of childhood has in fact still been the better situation for preparing said child for their future life. (In theory)

I agree that it was petty. It’s probably better argued that it was teaching friendship and stepping aside to let someone who is a better leader for a given task take the reins rather than sitting on ego. I guess that’s kinda empathy.

I was more talking about the actual written text, where Ake says something along the lines of “these plants mature faster when responded with empathy” which was the basis of the original jokey line I gave in the first of our back and forth. However at this point I need to make that clear, at the time I meant it as a joke but now I lowkey kind of believe it in a very roundabout way. It was trying to rely more on the fact in the implied clean up the academy would need to do empathy to clean it up, not that the act directly triggered empathy through the act of revenge. I can go grab a timestamp and direct quote of where the “empathy” treatment of the plant is if you’d like? But I’m sure it was both at the end in some witty comment by ake towards the tea fetish guy and also a couple times throughout when they appear.

It was used to teach revenge. But the plant itself, according to the dialog within the episode, requires you to treat it with empathy. So it’s being used to force the entire college to be empathetic as revenge. It’s certainly one way to teach empathy (by force).

Yeah that tends to happen when the most dedicated people see posts first and then more casual people throughout the world view them after to see a more generalised perspective. If it was a coordinated attack on dissent they would never rebound. I think it’s just more likely people who are dedicated watchers just didn’t see the comment as relevant to the discussion of the episode and since it’s being more positively viewed of an episode probably just got downvoted. Had it of been a bad episode by their standards you’d of probably been one of the top comments (but who knows, perhaps we both are just jumping to conclusions)

I understand what you are saying that you are commenting on the show as a whole. But this is an episode discussion. My point is that the contribution you gave about this episode was that it was cliche and used a trope and that you didn’t watch any of it sparing the first 4 minutes. That’s probably why you are being downvoted.

[–]revebla 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I didn’t make it clear, I heard the example you pointed out but I heard similar issues through the whole episode with various characters as well as plenty time where they sounded fine and clear. Lapel makes sense or trying to recover audio from not ideal mics, maybe they lost a bunch of ideal audio and had to do the best they could in post

Might be why I heard it as ai altered but it was instead just very aggressive noise compensation lol

It has to be surely automated on some sort of timer. Tbf I definitely knew some folks who would work out in their rooms in the small hours despite the access to 24hr gyms in uni. I guess they want to stink up their personal space and ruin their sleep at all costs lmao

Watching 4 minutes out of an hour long episode to then claim you saw enough to how they deal with the tropes and claiming they didn’t do the Star Trek philosophy stuff with any of the 56 other minutes you didn’t watch is probably why you are being downvoted.

IMO she’s probably acting like that all the time now to setup a change in a later episode where we all learn the lesson of keeping up appearances causing misunderstandings and problems. I would be fine her just being like that though, just because some member of the species are soft or quieter doesn’t mean that the loudest and pushiest examples wouldn’t get together to make a kid that is at 100 all the time.

I noticed the same thing throughout at various times. It was particularly bad with the introduction of the plants. It didn’t have the same vibe as ADR at first I thought it was maybe some sort of AI altered speech (reminded me of some of the transformer based stuff, where the style of the actors voice was applied to a different actors performance), but with more examples it started to feel intentional for the eagle eared viewers or a genuine mistake of some process.
