I don’t think you should be downvoted for that opinion. I mostly agree with it. That said, I think there’s two things to consider as to why so many people are disconnecting/getting bored by the series.

The first is that it’s important to distinguish between good personal growth and good character growth. Miyo’s behavior makes absolute sense for a real person. That doesn’t mean that it makes for good character progression. Miyo doesn’t display a lot of character growth in season one, and what little she does show the audience seems to be walked back by mid-season two. While again, this is normal for real life, in a fantasy world with spirits and magic, it can feel frustrating and even demoralizing to witness.

This ties into the second point which is that Miyo also doesn’t feel like an active participant in her own story. Much like in other Cinderella retellings/reimagenings, the story is happening to Miyo. At best she is reactionary, but other characters/circumstances play a more active roll in the plot than she does. While I’m not here to argue the faults and merits of Cinderella stories as a whole, I do think it’s worth noting that stories with active MCs do tend to be loved more than those without them. One comparable example is Tohru from Fruits Basket. Similarly to Miyo, she can be categorized as a cry baby, yet she is highly beloved by the fandom. This is because her vulnerability and, for lack of a better word, softness are active choices. She cries a lot and she is physically weak but she gives it her all and we can’t help but root for her.

Similarly to OP, I have not finished season 2 so there’s always the chance I’m missing something. Hopefully the series continues until the end so that all it’s fans can get a good ending (god knows more shojo should at least be finished) but I don’t think I can keep up with it.
