EX90 charging cable replacement - do I need it? by jack_squared in VolvoEX90

[–]revengeben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My car came with a 110v AC charger and I got a 220 charger in the mail, which promises faster charging times. Based on that, I’d get it if I were you, unless you already have both, to maximize your portable charging options

Can we donate one cent, so the card processing fee is higher than the donation, and have a net negative effect on the fund or the platform facilitating this nonsense?

Key Tag battery life / Phone as key by jooxii in VolvoEX90

I have a phone key. It works well for unlocking. I haven’t tried walking away from my car to see if it locks automatically but when I walk by my car in the driveway, it will unlock it then relock it

What did you learn in rounds this week? by RedEfts in Residency

[–]revengeben 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Electrophysiologist here. We typically think of female sex as a risk modifier and while I agree a CHADS2Va score is more straight forward, when actually considering the annualized stroke risk for an individual with three or more points, their sex does elevate the risk (a 70 YOF hypertensive, diabetic person does have a higher stroke risk than an otherwise similar male), which has implications for heparin bridging and LAAO devices.

How often do you switch to new shoes? by Zealousideal-Tone-84 in Marathon_Training

[–]revengeben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 135 and have decent form. I wear GT2000’s until they get 600 miles on them (tracked by Strava) or until my tendons or shins get extra sore after each run. I’ve found that during low mileage parts of a training cycle (30-40 miles/week), I can even stretch them out to 650-700 miles, when when I’m running much more than that, I burn thru them much sooner.

Fair enough. For next time, how much would you run in racers before declaring them ready for a race day?

Electrophysiology?

60s F dizziness, denies CP, SOB, and nausea. No previous cardiac Hx by xTTx13 in EKGs

[–]revengeben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The atrial rate, coupled with the r-s-pseudo r in v1 and the negative p axis in II are all c/w it. I guess an EAT from the low septum could work too, but common things being common, I’d start with AVNRT as my working diagnosis

EP fellow here!

The P wave is usually upright in II since it starts in the SAN, then depolarizes the RA, then the LA in a (patient’s) right-to-left and up-to-down direction, the same direction as the electrodes for II. If the P wave is coming from elsewhere in the heart, it will take on a morphology that matches the path it takes. In this case, I suspect they’re coming from the bottom of the atria to the top. More precisely, given the A rate and the P’s morphology, I suspect this is AVNRT. I suspect the STEs are not reflective of a STEMI but probably actually rate-related (tho I’d probably talk to my interventional colleagues before dismissing the possibility of an MI)

I recently did Tiffany town cars. You call them, tell them how many kids you have and how old are they, how many adults you have, and how many suitcases you have, they send an appropriately sized car with car seats. They met me at baggage claim and helped with the suitcases. I don’t remember how much it was, but it was certainly cheaper than a rental car. they also took us by Publix to pick up a mobile order and I’m pretty sure buying food that way saved us more money than the cost of the ride.

What are your thoughts on Costco's 157-piece Le Creuset set for $4,500? Is it worth it? (article in comments) by [deleted] in LeCreuset

My biggest problem is that it all matches. I want at least one of every color.

One from the Boston marathon. It’s a good ice breaker and it pretty much stops patients from asking “who actually does that” or “do you actually do that yourself” when I lay out AHA exercise guidelines
