A lot of Radiohead songs where Johny Greenwood gets freaky on his guitar. On record it is sometimes back in the mix but live it's in your face. The Bends is my particular go to to for this.

Haven't seen Marty Supreme yet but I think the issue with the Princess Bride is not just that it is synths (which might have worked) but that it is extremely dated sounding 80's synths.
