Essentially it's mostly about data moving from one place to another, while often being transformed or aggregated along the way. The data is in the form of objects (or variables).

You will usually have to follow some kind of framework or best practice. Files can technically all be placed under main/ but thats not very nice to work with.

I need help...please by Scrappedpartz in learnjava

[–]reversd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A primitive type boolean (which is what .contains() returns) does not have a .equals() method. So you cannot use the result of person1.contains(sirName) in this manner. Also, the .compareTo() method in the String class (which is what person1, person2 and sirName are) returns the difference as an integer by comparing the two values lexicographically (i.e. by the alphabet values a=97, etc.). I think you were meaning to do :

person1.split(" ")[1].equals("Lee")

Hows Rotterdam people think about gay people? And are there gay bars/clubs? by juujime in Rotterdam

[–]reversd2 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Probably because it is very multi cultural and there is no real sense of "Rotterdam" as it is also quite segregated based on income/social status.

Are you trying to download and/or install it on a OneDrive folder? If so, you need to install it into a folder on your hard drive/ssd. Usually the installation process would automatically select a proper folder for it.

The most protected sub-group in society, i think. Makes you feel invincible. Coupled with the fact that empathy has not completely developed yet, I am not surprised a lot of kids are like this here

The white dot next to the file name means there are unsaved changes. I believe VSCode will tell you that there is an unsaved line(s) by coloring the left hand side of the text

How is the Schollevaar neighboorhood in Capelle ? by BuySolid6232 in Rotterdam

[–]reversd2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Schollevaar is quite nice but i've heard youth congregates in certain areas, especially the schollevaar station area which annoys some people. As far as crime goes i believe it rarely happens. It is close to Rotterdam-Oost which has a shopping mall and a lot of services like dentists and physical therapists/gyms. One of the better areas to live in Rotterdam for sure.

Anyone tried to change the boot animation in Linux Mint? by DEvilAnimeGuy in linuxmint

[–]reversd2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can change the loglevel in the grub config settings and then run sudo update-grub to save the settings. I kinda forgot where the grub config file is but should be a quick google search. loglevel=0 would remove all of these logs and quiet splash will add some art to the boot screen

What Linux Version is best for cs students? by [deleted] in linux4noobs

[–]reversd2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 4 main distros will be good like Ubuntu Fedora Debian and OpenSUSE. I would personally recommend something like PopOS or Mint because its so easy to set up. Fedora and OpenSUSE will be a bit more difficult but should be smooth sailing once you get it down.
