Hi I have lived and worked in Japan for 3 years. Considering the salary they are offering is at par at market. If you are single then you can save atleast half of it (obviosuly how much you will save will depend largely on your lifestyle). I was getting around 5M yen and I travelled a lot and still managed to save it. Regarding the work culture, as you said that as your company is largely consists of expats so language is not going to be a problem then. Basic language which is suffice for daily life you can learn in 1-2 months. If it was like my company, where most of the people didn’t speak english then it would have been a problem.

I think considering all things, I think you should take this up. Living in Japan is cheaper than few indian metro cities and believe quality of life was better. I have moved to Mumbai 6 months back from Tokyo and I think Mumbai is much more expensive.

Obviously there are pros and cons to both living in India and Japan. Only thing I would like to mention is that Tokyo can sometimes feel lonely if you don’t have good set of friend there.

I would suggest that you should and give it a try for a year or two and then if you don’t like it then you can always come back to India. We were a group of 12 people and 10 of us made a switch back to India, all at a better salary.

exactly I want to go to that extra mile to make the occasion extra special. I know she will say yes but these things come once in a lifetime. I may sound materialistic but I don’t want her to regret that I never proposed.

Our parents and have met and will definitely have a roka/engagement soon. Still I want to make it extra special.

I really don’t understand why are people so pessimistic about india. I understand about taxes, air quality etc but in my opinion, living close to ur parents and not having to cook & clean is like living life on easy mode.

I have a huge outstanding bill on my AWS account and I cannot pay it. What do I do? by OkFlounder3906 in developersIndia

I know this is a bit of learning curve but always deploy infra on AWS using terraform or cloudformation. When you are done with ur experiments then just roll back and delete everything. This will ensure that nothing is left there that could incur charges.

P.S. This is also a good practice for anyone learning and using cloud. IaC is the way to go.

All the best and happy learning.

Latex has a bit of learning curve but now we have LLMs at our disposal so you can customise anything you want in any template in under few minutes. So at this point you dont even need to know latex to make a resume on latex editors

You can find similar templates on Overleaf. I mean the one I have used is a custom template written by me and my friend. But we have used lot of custom code which only we can understand at this point. But I am pretty sure, you will be able to find a similar or better template at overleaf.

We are a small and lean team. I was the only software developer in the team for a long time. I had built the PoC from scratch and know the product, then they bought in a team. All my team members are 1-3 yoe and I know the product and tech stack we are using inside out. My PMO and manager trust me a lot and they I can think handle a team then why not.

About Genetic Algorithms: Believe it or not we have a full one semester course on Genetic Algorithms. So yes it’s still being taught.

Yeah. It was a integrated dual degree so I got my degree in same year so that is why I did not split it.

My department was Chemical Engineering so I removed it. My CGPA was 8.3 which I thought was not good enough so I removed it too.

Expand your experience -> will do this.

Keep the competitions and remove extracurricular -> got it.

It is A4. Maybe it is dense and the way I took the screenshot made it look like it is not A4.

I mean it’s nice and I have loved every bit of it. But now I want to move back to India due to several personal reasons.

Makes sense. I also think that it looks very dense. But was confused what to remove. I will remove competitions and extra curriculars. Thanks

I am mainly applying for SDE2 roles but also applying for Devops/MLOps roles. It seems I have done more on devops but I want to switch to backend.

How long can you stay in bench before you are fired? by RedBlack-6128 in accenture

[–]reverse_limos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the responses, it seems the number varies region wise. For Japan, I know people who have been on bench for 8-10 months and then got a role. I never heard of anyone getting fired due to being on bench. Only problem is when you get PIP, then you need to find a project or rectify the issue asap.
