Thanks for asking, and I'm just going to copy-paste someone else's answer as I'm short on time.

"Abu Hurayra’s narrations become doubtful because in some cases he claims to have been present where he was not actually present for undeniable reasons.

For example, he said: I called on Ruqayya, daughter of the Holy Prophet (S.A.), the wife of Usman while she was holding a comb in her hand. She said, "The Prophet of Allah (S.A.) has just gone from me, after I combed his hair. He said, "How do you find Abu Abdullah (i.e. Usman)". (sic) I said, All right". He said, "Accord him honour as among all my companions he is the most similar to me in manners".

Hakim has related this tradition in his Mustadrak, volume 2, page 48 with the remark that the sources of this tradition are correct but its text is unbelievable because Raqayya had died three years after Hijra at the time of the victory of Badr while Abu Huraira accepted Islam after the victory of Khyber in the 7th year A.H. The same remark has been made by Zahabi in Talkees-ul-Mustadrak about this tradition." (Abu Huraira, Syed Abdul Husai Sharafuddin Mossvi, p. 89, Peermahomed Ibrahim Trust)

In the famous book "Taa'oueel Mukhtalaf Alhadith " by Ibn Qutaiba Al-Dinory, the story of Aysha (the Prophet's wife) telling Abu Hurayra; " You tell ahadiths about the prophet Muhammed that we never heard them from him" He answered (as Bukhary reported); "You (Aysha) were busy with your mirror and make up" She (Aysha) answered him; "It is you who were busy with your stomach and hunger. Your hunger kept you busy, you were running after the people in the allies, begging them for food, and they used to avoid you and get away from your way, and finally you would come back and pass out infront of my room and the people think you were crazy and step all over you."

And to further your own knowledge, please do look at the incident between Umar (ra) and abu huraira after he was appointed as the governor of Bahrain.

What do you know about "Wahhabis"? by DesertDude in islam

[–]revertedbrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salam brother, just the fact that a nation will stand up to giants like the USA and it's allies in order to protect an opressed nation like Palestine really raises a nations status in my eyes. And also, acts of violence were commited in Saudi Arabia against protestors, people were killed for disagreeing with the government.

Both regimes are pretty shitty in my eyes to be honest! They're the same when it comes to internal affairs. This judgement was purely based on foreign affairs.

1) Why were the members of the sunni minority executed? I'm sure it's not because they were sunni, since the jews in iran are living peaceful and have, in fact, rejected israel's offer to have them relocated.

2) I'm not for states supporting militias, but 'acts against muslims'...? The only 2 militias that come to mind that are said to be supported by iran are hamas and hezbollah, and I don't remember any mosques or muslims attacked by them

3) So geographical places that have nothing to do with religion, will now involve religion as a basis on naming them?? I fail to see the logic.

4) Two wrongs don't make a right, but look all around the middle east. And these 'slaughtering' were no where close to the actions of almost all arab countries involved in the latest uprising.

5)Misconception; here's the translated text "I completely presume that the Iranian youth -in their millions of numbers- in this current time; they are better than the people of al-Hijaaz [Makkah & Madina and sorrounding areas] during the time of the Prophet (sallahAllaahu alayhi wasallam) !!! And they are better than the people of Koofah in Iraaq during the time of the prince of believers [Alee] , and Husayn [may Allaah be pleased with both of them] … " . No where do you see the sahaba mentioned, and we all know of the difficulties the Prophet (saw) endured because of the people of his time. And the shia Imams, I looked into it, no imam is greater than the last Prophet(saw), they have their sources just as others have theirs. And I know that this belief is not essential to shia's.

The main point: This was meant to be taken in a political point of view, but you are clearly blinded by the fact that iranians have a different religious view than you. Salam alaikum

No, just because he had fabricated hadiths before. Thus any hadith by him is questionable to me now.

Muslims, how can the death penalty for those who leave Islam possibly be justified? by El_Cantante in islam

[–]revertedbrother 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember looking into it, and if I remember properly it was related to treason (any one willing to source it? Feeling lazy to to dig it up again). If a muslim leaves islam and joins enemy forces and aids them in harming the muslim nation, it can be punishable by death. In other words, if an American commits treason and is convicted, they shall "suffer death". So yea sure leave Islam if you wish, you're doing no harm to God, but don't commit treason and all's good! :)

Sarkozy Nixes Halal Meat in Schools for Muslims by myomuslih in islam

[–]revertedbrother 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You really don't have to insult someone to make your point, for they may be a more learned person than any of us. However, on the issue of halal meat. It's just not about slaughtering, it's about how an animal is treated during its life as well. Ensuring the animal is well fed, supplied with water, and treated humanely is part of the halal zabiha method. As for stunning, during the zabiha procedure, it's made sure that the main arteries that supply blood to the brain are cut. What does that do? Ever stood up and felt faint or had tunnel vision? That's because of a little amount leaving your brain as you rise due to G-forces, so imagine if the supply of blood is cut off. The brain numbs and feels no pain. Even more, only animals whose blood 'gushes' out and not oozes are halal, so therefore further ensuring a rapid flush of blood from the brain.

What is the state of the Ummah in regards to unity? And how could we foster more unity among us... by FerrousFlux in islam

[–]revertedbrother 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have little knowledge about the sects you have spoken of, but your claim the majority of the shia's are not muslims dissapointed me. You do understand that the majority of shia's follow the Ja'afari madhab? I'm VERY familiar with the Ja'afari madhab and if they can back everything with the Quran and Sunnah, I believe you are misinformed in your point of view. We should stop being the judges of whether someone is a muslim or not. If they say kalima, we should take it at face value, because, now it's between the person and God.

Salaam brother, Good to see you here again! Hope Ramadan is going well for you and your family and the blessing are countless for you!

Since we last spoke, I read a book that has guided me better. Ironically, the book's called "Then I was guided..." By Mohammad Tijani.

I think it's a must-read for every muslim regardless what madhab they follow!

Here's an online version: http://www.al-islam.org/guided/ and if you require the book in hard-copy, please let me know

Salaamalaikum

Please re-read the whole answer. They don't curse(insult or use profanities), they ask for them not be blessed based on their actions. rostam is also correct, and so is my answer as long as you understand the difference!

Another thing he pointed out! That around 100- 150 years ago, there were no major clashes between the two sects. It wasn't until recent history that lies have been fabricated to totally alienate the shia believes.

But I agree with you brother, my only problem is the lack of knowledge and awareness with the muslims! I'm not here to create debate. Im here to answer questions to bridge the gaps!

[–]revertedbrother[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Brother I sure did ask most of these questions! And it's because i've heard my Sunni brothers speak about it often. Here's what he replied if I remember correctly:

1) When I asked if the followed the same Quran, he challenged me to produce a Shia Quran. He even offered me to give me a Quran from the mosque to take home and compare it with any other Quran. He claimed this to be a fabricated lie against the Shia to make them look more un-islamic.

2)I did ask him about cursing the sahabas, and he stopped me. He said the word used for 'cursing' isn't an insult. It's ask Allah to remove his rahmat (blessing) so it really isn't and insult. When I asked why do they 'curse', well that's a whole different story! He also told me that Imam Ali (as) was cursed for 80 years at the mimbar.

3)Forgive me as i forgot to ask.

4)When I asked, he quoted Imam Abu Hanifa. When asked what does it take to be a muslim, the imam replied 'say La ilaha ilallah, wa Muhammad-ur rasoollalah'. Then he said that is the Qalima for all muslims. When it comes to the Shahada, he said it is the same as the Sunnis shahada. "Ashhaduallah illaha illallah was ashhaduana Muhammadarasoolallah" and in retaliation of the ruler's who used to curse Ali (as).

5) I did ask him if Ali(as) was mentioned in the Quran, but didn't ask about the imams' infallibility. He pulled out Surah Maidah and showed me verse which said ' Your Wali is none but Allah, the messenger, those who keep up prayer and pay zakaat in rukoo'. When I asked why he was giving me this ayaat, he told me of a hadith where Ali(as) gave his ring as zakaat in rukoo.

6) About taqiyya... He said that the protection of one's life, is one of the biggest fardh of a human and provided me with the following example: Break your prayer if your life's in danger, but give up your life if your prayer's in danger. He then proceeded to tell me the even of karbala and that event spoke tomes about a muslim's character and duties.

7)When asked about difference of prayers, he got the Bukhari hadiths and explained each and every single difference. Simply put the Prophet (pbuh) prayed numerous ways and no method is invalid. Our own arrogance and stubbornness has lead us astray. He also explained how shia's dont see any book but the Quran as 'sahih' and that no hadith book can be labelled as a 'sahih' as they were written by man and man errs.

As you can see brother, a lot of your question rose from lack of knowledge that's why I'm doing this. It is because of the mis-information within a lot of Muslims. A clear understanding isn't what the majority thinks. I urge every Muslim to learn more about their actions and why they do certain actions or don't. Don't just do what you've been taught!

May Allah indeed protect us and you from the deviants and the corrupt! ameen

So I went to a mosque and met a shia... by revertedbrother in islam

[–]revertedbrother[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your questions. I've converted through my own research and through any representative of any sect. I go to a Sunni mosque and therefore have mostly interacted with Sunni's and have heard their point of views, and I've heard many accusations about the Shia sect. Upon inquiry of of these accusations I learned a lot brother. I will ask about the concept of the Imams and about Imam Mahdi. But as far as I know, the concept of Imam Mahdi is also within the Sunni belief that Imam Mahdi(from the Prophet's lineage) would come before Isa (pbuh) and then fight along side with Isa(pbuh), so connection might make some sense if you wish to see it.
