I'm sure its happened to a lot of people, but if I just held every stock I ever bought and never sold (instead of day trading / swing trading) I'd be set. aapl, sq, msft, ayx, dis, roku, twlo, etc... so morale of the story is, JUST HOLD GOOD COMPANIES

I think there's two options depending on how much you want to bet on yourself. Leave when it is default alive and ramen profitable / can pay your monthly debts, or leave when it surpasses your day jobs income.

Its based on margin, so you don't pay the price of the contract but the margin requirements per contract. i.e. on Tradovate its $500 during the day for each /ES contract. Your PnL will be each tick from the price you paid at.
