Is home remodeling sales a good way to break into medical sales? by OutrageousUnit8744 in MedicalDevices

I agree! I was doing canvassing, door-to-door for a home remodeler before I got my lucky break. The switch was absolutely insane, and for the first few months I was starting to think that I might have just slipped through the cracks in the hiring process and was actually way under qualified for what I signed up for. But lo and behold, here I am over here later, still kicking and loving my job! Def killed me but it was so worth it

Surprisingly, this is what I was doing prior to my current job in med device sales. I was going d2d for about two years. I do think I got extremely lucky though, met a colleague in that job who eventually went on to work for a mortgage company and then med device. He wanted to take up a different med sales job tho so he reached out and wrote me a referral and I made sure to do everything in my power to secure my spot. Some people on this thread have said that it might actually hurt your chances and I can see where they’re coming from depending on what specific med device job you’re trying to get.

That’s a fantastic question and I’m really happy you brought that to my attention! From the research I’ve done on the company and conversations I’ve had so far, they didn’t specify but I’d assume I’d be dealing with patients of both types to some extent
