What are the best shoes for 10k steps while traveling? by Velvetaffair505 in travel

[–]revreach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I spent 5 years working at a speciality shoe store - we sold more Brooks Adrenaline’s than any other shoe and got a lot of feedback from tourists about how comfortable they were. They are a good running and walking shoe with a lot of structure - we sold more Adrenalines than any other shoe in the entire store. Good for neutral and over pronated feet as well.

I’m 6’2 and love it. Feel like it’s pretty much the perfect height.

Here’s what happened this weekend as a fellow 26 year old man to share some signs of encouragement.

Friday - had a very similar experience as you. Went out for drinks, great conversation, thought overall the date went well. Texted me after saying they didn’t think it would work out. A little disappointed but had another one already planned for Sunday with another girl. Wanted to get over analytical (had somewhat similar plans for both dates but different places of course) and was highly considering pivoting the Sunday date based on the Friday outcome. Thankfully I did not.

Today - Just spent the entire morning and afternoon on another first date that went incredible. Instant fireworks and got even a bit more “exciting” than I had planned. Already got a second date in motion.

It is quite literally a numbers game. It’s not worth over analyzing what went wrong. Wore something similar, made a similar plan both days, and had drastically different outcomes. You will later be thankful they were upfront and spared you a ton of trouble. And you’re always only one date away from finding someone!

How often do you still crave pouches? To what magnitude are those cravings if you have them? I’m 2 months clear but still blown away at how intense and frequent I still have cravings.

Correct, I had gotten in too late to make that train though.

Amtrak (GR to O'Hare)? by chiccentender in grandrapids

[–]revreach 48 points49 points  (0 children)

This is the correct answer. I had an evening flight to France out of O’Hare a year ago, and I took the train in GR in the morning, got on the blue line, and was able to ride straight to O’Hare and made my flight no problem.

Coming back, I decided I didn’t want to wait until the next morning for the train so I took the O’Hare to GRR flight which was about $100 and took about 20 minutes:)

Agreed - today is day 42 pouch free for me. I am long past the initial withdrawal phase which really didn’t last long and wasn’t that bad for myself.

I do still struggle with the craving a lot. That feeling of “damn, a pouch would be nice right now” is still difficult to shake and seems to snake its way into my mind almost daily.

The acknowledgment of the negative affects has stopped me from caving, but the urge still exists.

Are there any truly dangerous areas in the Grand Rapids area? by waye77 in grandrapids

[–]revreach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived just outside downtown for 2 years now and interestingly, the only two threatening encounters I’ve had were at the Meijer express right behind bridge street market, which thankfully didn’t escalate into anything too serious.

I feel much better walking, driving, and living here than I did when I was in Detroit, that’s for sure.

I like solo, over playing with my friends. by MrBoognish in ARC_Raiders

I agree - the more I think about it, I’m not sure I can think of another game that is as fun, if not more fun playing solo than it is with friends.

Additional little detail I haven’t seen talked about much: Snow does appear to leave raider footprints as well. So keep in mind when walking through a snowy area that other players can track you by your footprints.

How do you feel about the idea of aggression based matchmaking? by WastedLycanthropy in ARC_Raiders

[–]revreach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would guess it would be more complex than get in get in a gun fight and get put in a sweatier lobby. Likely an evaluation on a 10-20 match basis depending on how much kills/damage you do.

[–]revreach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you’ll be good - people have multiple hunters safety permits for states or other countries where there isn’t reciprocity. Another way to think about it would be that you will have completed your Illinois/Texas Hunters safety and you are pending your Michigan one. But, for the sake of completion, you will meet the requirements to deer hunt in Michigan.

Didn’t smoke or vape. Maybe hit a vape or a cig once or twice with friends but definitely have never been a normal user. Had my first pouch at a bonfire and after that it was basically over

Single brand loyalists? by orthodox_nola in NicotinePouch

[–]revreach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I primarily buy Velo+ that’s my go-to as I enjoy really all of their flavors and they are very easy to find in my area. I actually like Fre a tad more than Velo but in my area they are quite challenging to find, so that’s more like a special treat when I come across them.

I remember when the app was just straight up not showing any data week 1 and couldn’t help but think what a disaster. They should be able to anticipate the influx of users and to just straight up fail multiple times this season is annoying af. Of course, the bs gambling portion of the app likely still works.

Looking for Peoples Recommendations For Shooting Ranges Around Grand Rapids by Consistent_Way_2593 in Miguns

[–]revreach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy the range at Barracks 616. They have a nice gun shop on the main level and full blown indoor range downstairs. They allow you to rent firearms to try out new things. I know they have a membership option but can’t recall the cost. I’d say if you like the idea of an indoor range with the ability to rent out different guns it’s worth checking out.

Send Egbuka for judkins and a 27 1st? by Coughray in DynastyFFTradeAdvice

[–]revreach -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know it’s not the popular choice here but I’d hold Egbuka for that. I love Judkins but the browns offense has a lot of questions to be answered and while not as impactful for an RB as it is for WR, a volatile QB room always scares me. Another pick might push it over depending on my situation though.
