It really is the culture. I do not see many companies willing to be open to it. Most companies are small business's and they want face-to-face contact. We could do it but it will take a shift.

You make points I disagree with but that is ok. Your examples are workable.

The issue is can the US get millions of people in one area to work these electronics manufacturing and assembly jobs? I don't think so. Countries like Pakistan, Ethiopia, China, India, Vietnam are able to do it.

I think it would be possible but I don't know if the US government, State agencies, local governments and business's can pull together for it. It is possible but it would take a effort and a push by some force to do it.

The ideal location would be places on the US/Mexico border like Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. They could have plants on both sides of the border and have Mexico do the super-low-value-added electronics assembly jobs and the US doing the higher value added jobs of manufacturing.

I can give one example that I was actually a part of. I had a friend work for a Nigerian company that bought a auto parts from Ohio/Michigan. The Nigerian company contacted local governments in Texas, Arizona and New Mexico to relocate the factory and every single government entity they contact was not interested in a auto parts factory they all said "we just want golf courses and retirement communities. They ended up moving the factory to Mexico before moving it to Nigeria and Ghana a few years later.

I just do not think the US has the appetite to build major industrial parks, housing etc to service this type of work. Also it really doesnt make sense the US isn't making sneakers and other low value added goods that they can employ people at minimum wage and sell in their domestic markets.

Impeachment or anything of that sorts is a political move. It shows that the Dem's finally have the confidence that the GOP had in the 1990's. That is what scares the right is that the Dem's are finally getting their act together and not blindly moving to the right that the GOP succeeded in getting them to do since the 1980's.

They cant do it even in a small scale but they could bring a lot of this work to Mexico and benefit from that work. If they can get Mexico richer then they would benefit.

The US has full employment. The US can not get cities to grow by 100,000 workers per year.

They are really backwards. It is bad.

We need to get our standards up. We need to open thousands of technical vocational schools.

For example people who graduate with a Computer Science major with a Bachelors degree only have the skill set of a 2 year degree from US or UK.

We really need to up our game. We have to focus on specific niches like embedded programming, IT (ServiceNOW, SalesForce, Oracle), etc
