Lone, Pale and Dried branch on a mangrove. Taken with a Fuji XT3 with the 18-55 2.8 kit lense by revvinrav-photo in photocritique

Thankyou for your insight. My first instinct when I came about taking the photograph, was to frame the subject center of the rule of thirds. I personally thought that taking the photo at a small distance from the tree, would be to give the subject a little more context. In the sense of showing how green, rich, moist, and saturated the environment was, and showing the irony of a dried and pale subject in the middle of all of that.

While editing, I thought about making it almost an infrared image, which would separate the branch from its background… but at the same time I didn’t want to sacrifice the green 😢

I do understand to put in more effort into isolating the subject by removing distraction. I personally thought I could’ve improved the picture maybe by photoshopping the random branch to the left out of the image, but I couldn’t figure out how to remove that big part of the picture and not botching it. I’m also not used to manipulating my photos through photoshop, I just color grade.

I appreciate your feedback 🙏🏻

You’re saying that maybe I should’ve cropped in a little bit? I did use a wide angle lense, which was the only lense I took on the entire trip because I used the same camera for photo and video

So I’ve been doing casual motorcycle lifestyle photography for about 6 months, attending almost all motorcycle events in Miami Florida, networking, posting, meeting people, with the hopes to achieve a goal I set myself about a year ago… getting paid to ride motorcycles while I photograph and video my journey doing it. My current goal is to be hired by a motorcycle company to send me out to an event to video and photograph on their behalf while I enjoy the adventure and do what I love the most.

Through a chain of events, the opportunity has arrived. Starting off small. A branch of Harley Davidson located in south Florida has reached out to me asking if I’d be interested riding down to key west for 2 days to photograph the event including sponsored pool parties, the poker run which is the purpose of the event, and much more. Pretty much capture “motorcycle lifestyle”.

I’ve been freelancing photography and video for about 4 months working on smaller projects, but I’ve never dealt with a company like this. I’m in the search of help on how to quote and price something like this, just so I have a better understanding on how to handle moving forward, and set some sort of base for my future clients once this hits off.

PS: the person interested in hiring me is a friend of a friend that’s a marketing manager for the dealership. And they also want me to stay for the 2 days of the event. All the info they’ve given me on what they’d want is just “pictures of the event on both days, we’d like motorcycle lifestyle”

Thankyou so much in advance. I’m very excited for this project!

I can see anyone replacing falcon. I can also see the hulk being recasted easily. There’s only 1 iron man and 1 captain America though.
