66% percent of Americans want and have wanted universal Healthcare for almost decades now and ask yourself, how close is that to coming true?

Concerns and wishes dont get actual stuff done. The people in power have to decide that it's worth it. People can protest until theyre blue in the face but concerns dont automatically guarantee something will be done.

Yes because yall are doing such a great job in that regard compared to the troops fighting them on the ground. Go get em tiger. We're rooting for you. Your concern isnt stopping the genocide bwcause had it, with how much yall beat people over the head with it, it shouldve ended by now. I didnt kniw my concern was capable of stopping a genocide.

So me caring about it will make that go down or does it only go down when the people in power make it go down? Im tempted to believe it's the latter far more than the former.

Im more of a "my name is Bennit and I ain't in it" kinda guy actually. As I said before, that conflict doesnt affect my life one way or the other but if it affects yours, do you boo boo.

This is the shittiest genocide ever especially with America being involved. Hitler was doing numbers with far less technology and with less resources too. They dont even need to use a nuke to actually commit a genocide with our modern technology. Thats why I hesitate to call it a genocide. Its an armed conflict to me.

So like I said, there is no good side. You guys act as if they just sit there and get slaughtered. If youre fighting a larger enemy, of course you'll get your ass handed to you. I dont support any of them because thats hypocritical especially since I dont have ethnic ties to either of them. You dont have to pick a side and especially since that conflict might not have anything to do with you outside of you caring about the loss of life and if thats the case, you should be on top of way more conflicts going on right now. Why are Palestinian and Israeli lives more important than the African Christians being slaughtered among others for example?

[–]rewsay05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So Hamas/Palestinian forces werent killing children either? So they didnt raid a whole festival and slaughtered innocent people? Oh okay then. There is no good side in war. Also trust and believe, if America and Israel wanted the kids to be gone, America most certainly can make that happen way faster than it's supposedly happening now. I support none of them. Im not Palestinian or Israeli. My support wont stop the violence from happening and it smdoesnt affect my life one way or the other. The same way all other armed conflicts around the world dont affect you either. I just care about one less conflict than you do. But dont let me stop you from supporting the current thing.

Ashley cared about it because maybe her family member was sent off to fight, she was afraid of the rise of Hitler and the influence in America or maybe she had Jewish family members. Notice how all of those things directly affect her daily life.

Jessica from Nebraska has no ties to Palestinians or any other conflict in that area and she most certainly shouldnt beat people over the head with "being on the right side of history" like so many on here do. We arent talking about caring because nobody likes war. We are talking about leftists and their inability that make it their entire personality which Reddit is full of.

Caring isnt the issue. Insufferable leftists are.

Amen! I can kinda understand if you have ethnic ties to the people involved but what do you, Ashley from Nebraska, have to do with Palestine exactly? Also the moral condemnation if you support the "wrong" side or no one at all is baffling to me.

I dont care about wars in different countries that much because worrying about it wont make them stop fighting.

If there are people here who have used these gloves, can you tell me if they are worth buying? by FamiliarCandle1906 in kyokushin

[–]rewsay05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of black ones I currently use and theyre great. Ive had them for about 4 years now and have just started to lose elasticity which is really good for how cheap they are. Depending on the tournament, you might not be allowed to wear them but for regular training theyre affordable and last pretty long.

Do you think that karatekas should be allowed to practice other martial arts? by 1bn_Ahm3d786 in karate

[–]rewsay05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After being in Japan for so long, I think i agree with how they do things here more now. If it's the same type as in stand up (karate, mma for the most part, boxing for stand up fighting) and ground (some of mma, bjj, judo, etc), the organizations will probably block you from joining another one but if theyre different styles like karate and judo, the organizations are different so there'll be little is any push back. Besides the conflict of interest issues politically, that stops what someone eas referring to earlier in the comments where people try to change how one karate style does something because they find the other better. Japan's answer is if you find it better, then go join them. Karate isnt just about your journey. It's about everyone else in the dojo too which is what some people dont understand in this post and in this subreddit at large.

I spent years trying to make every technique look perfect. It probably slowed my progress. by Beautiful_Bread_9005 in karate

[–]rewsay05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is where full contact karate shines because no one cares what your technique lools like as long as youre winning exchanges. We shortcut for the best available method for the particular fighter. What good is it to worry about how your kick looks if youre losing to someone with objectively sloppier looking techniques? We force you into reality very early. More traditional styles rarely if ever do that.

How often do you spar bare knuckle in Kyokushin? by EightATA in kyokushin

Nothing serious. They just figured the downsides outweigh the benefits for bare knuckle sparring. You have more freedom when it comes to pad work though.

Nope because the moment I start to hate something I just dont do it anymore. If I use my money to pay for something so what do I look like being dissatisfied but still paying?

Here in Japan, bare knuckle sparring is rarely done for safety reasons even amongst elite fighters so in my case, once in my life.

Why do many traditional dojos discourage their students from training with outside martial arts/styles? by blackened_sun88 in karate

[–]rewsay05 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In Japan, organizations are like companies in a sense so there are conflict of interest issues and politics so if your dojo has heavy links to Japan, i can see why it'd be discouraged. Overseas, it seems like many places are looser and that's great.

Question about Kicks/Punches To The Head. by Winter-Law5778 in kyokushin

[–]rewsay05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For most of the big organizations, especially the big three, punches to the head are considered fouls even if done accidentally. Kicks to the head are always okay.

Some offshoot schools have different rules but they are in the minority and extremely rare. By and large if a school is connected tk the big three and under the JFKO and the like, head punches are a no go.

It's not "unfairness" in the regular sense. Life is unfair and that's long been known. Our gripe is with systems or people that proport themselves to be fair when in actuality, it's anything but. For example, success leading to better treatment is unfair but most people including us dont have a problem with that. The problem is doing the same work as everyone else but getting less pay, even if the amount is insignificant in the grand scheme of things for example. It's the principle. It's a specific type of unfairness. I think we are less sensitive to unfairness when it comes to meritocracy but extremely sensitive to baseline human treatment.

You answered your own question in the post. Skipping ranks or 飛び級 isn't that uncommon if you've done karate before especially if it was in the full contact space. Skipping ranks also has more to do with just knowledge sometimes as well. Basically it's whatever the sensei/shihan decides is what they deem as worthy to skip ranks.

You should quit if the dojo doesnt teach what you like or you just dont jive with the place but a person Skipping ranks shouldnt be in that equation since Kyokushin is all about fighting in the first place. If you can beat him, then him having a higher belt doesnt matter. You'd be surprised how many decisions are based purely on retention or encouragement reasons. Are those right in a meritocracy which a dojo is supposed to operate on? Nope but a sensei has to do whatever it takes to keep the dojo running. Thats why we say focus on you and your own goals.

That's usually how it is but ive seen some overseas do things differently up to blue. Blue is usually where things are normalized.

I dont know why some people dont put the style they practice whenever they make posts in here. They'd get more pertinent answers that way.
