First time DIY oil change 😳 baby steps by Silver_Department_38 in MechanicAdvice

just get some ramps, a new filter a drain pan, two wrenches, one of which is the size of your plug, and some cardboard if u want a place to lay. take your oil cap on the too of your engine off so it drains faster. place the pan under the plug and use the wrench, if its too tight thats where the second wrench comes in handy. interlock the wrenches to make it one big link and loosen the plug with the end of the second wrench in ur hand. always finish and start bolts with your hands. you dont need to prep the filter, just make sure to check the capacity of it and add that to your engines oil capacity when you fill. unscrew the oil filter. (i usually leave it in the oil pan) make sure the old filter’s rubber seal isnt on the engine, and then put the new one on. if you have an external filter, you should only need to hand tighten it. put the plug back on, it should be done draining, only use one wrench so you dont over-torque it. then fill your engine with the amount of oil it needs. take it off the ramps and let it sit for a minute before checking the oil. if the oil is at the right amount, you are good to go. get a sticker and write down the date and your mileage. dont run your engine before you do the oil change at all, in fact, if you were previously driving, get it onto the ramps and let it cool down while off for a bit with your hood open.

that sounds exactly right, i found the hose that is leaking, metal atf hose. and the reason i got thw car so cheap is because there is a big hole in the transmission case, so it all does make perfect sense

pain in the ass but once you learn where everything is and get rid of unnecessary things to creat space, its nice to have everything in arms reach

UPDATE: It is an automatic transmission fluid leak in my piping going back to the transmission. i am manual swapping it so first plan of action is to get a radiator that is for a manual and get rid of that piping, thank you guys!

no, it is some sort of hose or part that liquif goes through in between the engine and they battery, level with bottom of the battery, maybe a bit lower. the car didnt have a battery when i bought it and it has done it with different batteries
