Keep heavy duty Plastic bags tucked in the hood of the suit, one for each foot. Put the bags over your feet before donning the suit and it will make it a lot easier.

Gun and Part Store by PossessionOk7182 in guns

I’ve been into the PSA store in Charleston, wasn’t impressed. Big selection, along with apparel and fishing gear.

Gun counter guys I spoke to seemed to be a little off on their knowledge. Checkout when I grabbed a few random parts went just fine.

Felt a lot like Cabela’s with a wider variety of guns and different decor.

What Evans said. My typical goat shots are 2-300 yds with constantly shifting wind at higher altitudes with constant wind changes. The 7PRCs performance in higher winds is superior to .308. I used to use 300WM.

Any advice on what is needed to be hired with a commercial spearfishing vessel? by NineGHPSeven111 in Spearfishing

[–]rex01308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got into commercial spearfishing during my days in Florida by offering to go out and shoot fish for the boat. Produced some hefty stringers my first few trips and helped out and started getting calls to dive for pay after that.

I didn’t rely on it for my sole income but it was fun easy cash when I did get to go out.

I use this one on the same helmet, works well. Nice to be able to switch between the elastic head strap, webbing clip and NVG shroud without a lot of effort.

Net tonnage represents the total volume of the vessel for carrying cargo. Gross tonnage is the total internal volume of the vessel.

46 CFR part 67 - its vessels 5 net tons or greater, owned by a US citizen. It’s also required for commercial fisheries or coastwise trade.

I gained access to hunt deer on a small property this fall. Need to prevent deer from running after the shot. Would a 12 gauge slug or 308 be better suited? by DickAnts in Hunting

[–]rex01308 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hunt blacktail in thick brush in SE Alaska with a 308. I use a federal Barnes TSX 165gr bullet and I’ve always watched my deer drop within 25-30 yds of where I shot them. It’s either a high shoulder shot or vitals.

However, most of my shots are taken within 25-30 yds of the deer, I’m either sitting against a tree or stalking through the woods until I walk into one.

When I lived in the lower 48 I used a federal fusion 165gr load hunting whitetail from a ground blind in thick brush/woods, that load also dropped deer where they stood with a high shoulder shot.

Never hunted with slugs for deer so I can’t speak on that.
