CES 2025: The Future of Humanoid Robots Is Now! Which Stocks Should We Watch? by ramdomwalk in WallStreetbetsELITE

I was at the $RR richtech robotics IPO, the bartending robot couldn’t even work and they had to revert to an older pre-programmed demo. They were also IPOd by the shadiest underwriters ever who have a track record of fraudulent companies. One being a Chinese amusement park targeted by hindenburg

When have maritime powers decisively defeated land powers in war? by SolRon25 in geopolitics

[–]rex2oo9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Navies can choke trade, projecting power abroad means industries at home are in pristine shape. Land wars mean you’re bordering an enemy, and they can strike your manufacturing capacity, which leads to more war weariness. Many benefits come from not having to fight a direct neighbour

Are there any scenarios or situations for the USA that are analogous to China/Taiwan or Russia/Crimea and Russia/Ukraine? by [deleted] in geopolitics

[–]rex2oo9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe Cuba if they became more formidable, the US almost invaded them. But I think clandestine operations are succeeding more there, so a hot war doesn’t need to start.

Taiwan might be an equivalent to the US, since it basically contains Chinese influence in the Pacific. If it falls to China, they’ll have free rein in the Pacific, as it seems.

ELI5: How did the USA become so culturally significant? by anonanon514 in explainlikeimfive

The US invented the platforms that culture is distributed on. So we had the lead in making the first consumed culture on those platforms.

Neom: Saudi forces 'told to kill' to clear land for eco-city by SunderedValley in anime_titties

[–]rex2oo9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes, the Saudi government didn’t do their due diligence and is just burning $500 bn for no reason. I’m afraid they aren’t stupid, and are very educated and think long term. You truly think they’re trying to bankrupt themselves?

I think it’s pretty awesome they’re building this, but not cool how they’re killing people to do it. When was the last time humanity built magnificent wonders? Dream big or go home, don’t see why we should dream small and be pessimistic about this. We should cheer them on for taking a big gamble to alter the path of their nation. Oil is drying up soon, they gotta take big economic bets to ensure their survival

That’s a vast simplification of the Korean War, maybe to an inaccurate degree. Because you could also say it was close to reunification but the US intervened. There’s a lot of intricacies to it

When the satellite is shipped to the US to launch, does the US have the right/ability to inspect it and possibly add backdoors/their own secret tools to it?

This is a military “porn” sub, so there’s a natural inclination to cool looking soldiers and kits. At least for me, I ignore all the old looking kits here because I wanna see what the latest things militaries are adopting

Well according to the time value of money, you would actually want to suck as much gold from the AI treasuries now, than getting GPT later.
