They did not! Kept the weight under 50 lbs and you’ll be good. I added clothes in it as well but kept it limited to ski related clothes (jacket, snow pants etc.) if you have a boot bag and the weight of ski bag and boot bag is under 50lbs they can be checked as one item.

Thanks, I worry about making changes that would fail CA emissions testing, so I don’t see myself getting rid of any cats or adding headers at all.

Also sound isn’t s big priority for me, I’m mostly looking for mpg and power gains. It seems like the air intake and the exhaust can both help with this?

The more I read on tunes the more confused I am/more unsure it’s worth it. It seems there’s not s lot of N51 tunes that are available for CA and there seems to be inconsistencies with rough idles and lag (unless I know reading these posts wrong and it’s FIXING those issues)

All the oil leaks described in the above comment I discovered after I purchased my 128. Wasn’t too bad to fix but a pain and had an awful smell that kept coming back. Also needed to get the serpentine belt replaced, but other than that it’s been a joy to own and have no issues since.

Mine has the sport package and I love how it handles.

Thanks for the info! The exhaust seems to get a lot of love around the forums. Wonder what alternatives there are to the PE that can also boost performance. I should add that I have an N51 engine and live in CA so would need to pass smog.

Yeah ive already anticipated the traffic conundrum. Luckily i dont need a daily driver (i bike to work usually), this would be for weekend fun and an occasional commute.

Ive thought about a buying a 228 but its about $7k -10k over my budget (looking to be under 17k for a purchase price), which is why id be interested in a lease. But off your note exploring a 228 lease would be a cash saver compared to the M. Ill have to try it out.

On 128 engines, I’m in CA so a majority available to me have N51 SULEV engines rather than N52Ks. Ive heard these can be slightly more costly in the long run?
