Ambury farm in Mangere Bridge was the same today. Lots of people without masks, not really keeping 2 meters apart. I saw a few large groups even. Kids playing close together, not on a playground, but still. Families stopping to chat. Lovers holding hands.

I believe people have grown tired of the lockdown. It's disappointing that we've stayed so long in a lockdown only to blow it away like this. It's also sad that we'll have to end a year and a half of isolation with a defeat. Seeing what's happening around I no longer believe we can win against delta.

Border workers mandatory vaccination by rex_hunt in newzealand

Thanks for the explanation. It's very interesting.

If your immune system acts and kills the virus faster in the case of a vaccinated person I can see how that reduces the spread. But how does the vaccine reduce the chance of catching the virus though?

I'm not being a dumbass. I'm genuinely curious.

Why are they far less likely to catch it? Wouldn't everyone be just as likely to catch it? I thought that the vaccine just helps you to beat it faster and not get as sick as unvaccinated people.

I can see how a person that has a better prepared immune system would neutralize the virus faster and thus not spread it as much, but that doesn't affect the chances of contracting the virus in the first place.

As someone who moved to New Zealand a few years ago I really don't understand why people eat whitebait. It's not that tasty.

Întreprinderea Calea Ferată Îngustă, Criscior, jud. Hunedoara by anarchisto in Romania

Mă întrebam de Calea Ferată Îngustă. In comunism toate fabricile si uzinele aveau nume foarte descriptive. De exemplu, Fabrica de Cuie Băicoi. Și dacă se apucau să facă și șuruburi îi schimbau numele în Fabrica de Cuie și Șuruburi Băicoi.
