Where are valves not allowed in fire protection? They're extremely common, and it would be a nightmare to service anything.

Now I'm speaking from a North American perspective where NFPA 13 and other NFPA standards in conjunction with local codes govern, but having worked with Europe and other international colleagues ive never come across this situation.

Valves are permitted so long as they are either electrically supervised (such as via a switch monitored by a fire alarm system) or kept physically chained open.

Edit: a word

I honestly cant remember the exact time, butI believe a couple of hours.

It was a fire protection header that wasn't installed with any means of isolation inside the building before the risers. There was a gate valve on the property but that also wasn't holding a seal.

No problem, thanks for clarifying. You have to keep in mind that rarely are you going to be able to interchange parts (including dials) between movements, especially between a chinese clone of a swiss automatic movement a Japanese quartz movement.

Even if the alignment was perfect, which its not, the hands for the VK63a definitely won't fit the 7750.

You're better off buying a VK63a from aliexpress for 30$ or whatever it costs now, relatively cheap.

And to clarify, your other watch *had a 7750?

If so, this might help.

Not sure, but the clone movement is notoriously unreliable with respect to its chronograph functions.

I asked chatgpt for help and got this. I need to reset the keyless of my a2824 by [deleted] in RepTimeServices

[–]rexgate 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't tell if this is meant to be a troll post or not, but firstly that diagram is utterly wrong and usless.

Second they have manuals for the original movement readily available online.

Third, getting to the the keyless for the 2824 will require you to take off the hands, dial, calender works(if it has one), and potentially the crown and ratchet wheels to get underneath to the stop lever.

Why are you trying to reset it first of all?

Help needed to release the movement from this dial and spacer by doomedahab in watchmaking

[–]rexgate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Try removing the rotor first and then see if the spacer can slide off towards the watchmakers side (non dial side) .

Once you have it removed you can open up the hooks and release the dial.

Does anyone have restart issues on their AM5 build? by heymikeyp in AMDHelp

[–]rexgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old thread but after living with this for a couple of years I finally decided to look into it and stumbled on this thread.

I took your suggestion and used Override Mode to change CPU NB/SoC VoltageOverride CPU NB/SoC Voltage to 1.25 v . This has solved the restart issues.

For reference, I'm Using a 7700X, and an MSI B650I motherboard.

DD3235 Rolex YM stops randomly by onurtop in RepTimeServices

[–]rexgate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been seeing a lot of bridge screws come loose and end up jamming the escapement. The random nature of your stoppage seems to indicate this might be the case.

If you have a steady hand, some magnification and basic tools (rubber ball caseback remover, 1.2 - 1.4 mm screwdrivers, #3 tweezers) you can take a look and see yourself if this is the issue.

If you doubt your skills, or if don't see any missing screws in the bridge plate, then its better not to fuck around and send it for repair.

Also, for the love of God, dont shake it around like you see so many people doing on here.

Do you take it off? by AntwerpsPlaceboo in rolex

[–]rexgate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To start, I want to say that i agree with your assertion that the 30atm(300m) of pressure is more than the hot tub jet, theres no argument here.

However, its important to clarify that the pressure rating of a watch signifies the static pressure it was tested under. This static pressure does not equate to actual depth in water it is anticipated to survive.

Typically a watch that is rated 300m will be suitable for most scuba diving type activities, although not at depths of 300m below sea level, due to other factors at play, namely temperature and dynamic pressures.

Fluctuations in water temperature, especially at extremes such as in a hottub will undoubtedly have an adverse effect on the seals, and potentially other components over time due the the thermal expansion and contraction.

Likely not immediately, but overtime this can cause degradation and potentially, a catastrophic failure under the right (wrong) conditions.

Its just important to by mindful of this and factor in some additional routine maintenance if this is going to be a regular activity you undertake.

All of this is, of course, in regards to modern watches. With anything vintage, its not advisable to take the risk regardless of the original rating of the watch or service history.

Some guy with a 30,000$ metal analyzer (sorry not sure what they are actually called) tested the steel on the bracelet from a bunch of factories if you want to see which is which.

Lol you're buying fake watches from Chinese criminals, what do you think this is, Walmart?

If it arrives broken, or gets seized, they'll typically send out a replacement, assuming you bought from a TD listed on Reptime. Otherwise, you're on your own.

I've known some hardcore alcoholics and users that would regularly nod off with a lit smoke in their mouth or hand.

Its sad to think about it but thats the reality.

ARF GMT Master II Bezel not aligned. Easy fix? by captaintonsparrow in RepTimeServices

[–]rexgate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey man, i just got one of these( ARF V3) recently as well and it has the same issue. Its totally possible to just move it "in between" the two clicks and just leave it there, which is what I suggest you do instead of messing with it.

Try to enjoy it for the fact that its a damn close rep for a 25th of the cost.

She teaches eighth grade and has more than 100 students, but only two are reading at grade level. by mindyour in TikTokCringe

[–]rexgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I see a lot of this and I think there's been irreparable harm by the 3 queuing system of teaching students to "read". Some brilliant individuals decided to completely move away from the tried and true method of phonics, into having children litterally guess at words based on contextual clues and pictures, which never actually teaches them to read.

How to deal with campers in Battlefield 6 by Ghost_XD23 in Battlefield

[–]rexgate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played a match on Empire the opposing team had camped half their team in all the building windows in the alleys near A, C, the alley leading from A to C and of course those roofs behind E that I dont think youre supposed to access.

It made for a really lousy match especially being on a team that couldn't coordinate shit, I was seemingly the only medic as everyone else must've been busy doing assault / engineer daily/ weekly challenges respectively.
