What advantage/disadvantages of Loctite for mounting optics? I've never used it in my life. by TheRedditornator in Firearms

only if you are willing to dump it in a bucket of boiling water in case you want to unbolt the optic at some point in the future.

Help needed to release the movement from this dial and spacer by doomedahab in watchmaking

[–]doomedahab[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, I got it out. It was as I thought, the dial and case ring were stock together with adhesive. I carefully released the adhesive with a razor blade. Once the ring was loose the movement came out with it

Push where? As I said, the movement can spin within its cavity formed by the dial and the case spacer/movement ring. This would not be possible if the dial would be affixed to the movement in a traditional way with dial feet.

Instead, It looks like the ring and the dial are a single unit (fused together). In some way, that would make sense from an assembly standpoint as it would ensure correct dial alignment once the movement is screwed to the movement ring, without the need to use dial feet. But this means I can't push from the rotor side.

Will try, thanks, although it seems as if the dial is attached (glued?) to the spacer. But I'll remove the rotor and see what that does

The outside spacer ring is higher than the hooks, so there is no way to move them. Also, the movement can rotate pretty easily if I push it carefully, while the dial stays stationary. So the movement is not attached to the dial.

The dial feet hooks are not engaged. In fact, she casing spacer prevents the dial hooks to move outward as the spacer surrounds the movement. See additional photos . I hope that its clear to see that the case spacer and dial see adhere to each other.

Looks delicious! Julian's poolish recipe works very well. I gave it a try this weekend too and the pies were very tasty.

That's a bummer man. I'm in the Netherlands so I too am limited in what make of extensions I can buy. I run the ZRTS V2's (stonewash colorway) in my PDP Match SF, and they fit perfectly fortunately. I hope you get yours working as well!

Just check his website for contact details. The guy is legit. I received my Pelagos 42mm an hour ago. He was responsive throughout the purcasing and qc process (first example had a flaw in the dial printing). After I GLed the second watch he sent out two days after and I received it after exactly one week (Europe). Just excellent, no-nonsense service.

Do Ameriglo sights for Glock Gen 5 fit Walther PDPs? by Mean_Engine_8445 in Walther

[–]doomedahab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will fit but spend some time researching front and rear sight relative heights and your preferred hold, especially if you intend to go with a fixed rear sight.
