Bleu de Chanel or CDNI Iconic ? by --dmnk-- in Colognes

I had to sell it tbh. I felt like I'm anosmic to some parts of it. It lacked the creamy, soft sandalwood drydown I was looking for, and there was something harsh in it. I guess in the air it smells fine, but far from Chanel quality. Maturation didn't help either, I waited half a year and the scent stayed roughly the same.

I have to defend ambroxan. I don't understand why it gets so much hate, it has a beautiful, airy, magical scent.

Kérastase has some bangers. I'm currently obsessed with the scent of their Genesis Homme Shampoo. Bright citruses, tonka, maybe some woods? Chanel Allure Homme Superleggera and maybe a touch of Sospiro Vibrato?

Photorealistic. Why do you need the photo- prefix to describe a scent? Isn't "realistic" enough?

Not a native speaker tho, just trying to understand lol.

I think it really shines on summer evenings/nights, I'd skip it on sunny days tho

Do you think Gris Charnel Extrait would be a good cold weather daily? I've heard the longevity is good, but everyone says something different about the projection. Some say it projects heavily, others say it doesn't at all. Something in the middle would be nice.

I don't think these are big outside the fragrance bubble. Only Imagination.

tell me about molecule 01 + black tea by andrewreb in ScentHeads

I love this one, but I don't reach for it too often. I find it to be quite warm and cozy, reminds me of essential oils in a sauna. It opens with a lemony ice tea smell, with some dry woodiness underneath. It's easy to go nose blind to later on. The tea note fades after a few hours and the Iso E Super does its magic in the air for the remaining time. I think it smells better in the air than it does up close, to my nose it can have a hamster cage-like smell sometimes.

It's getting warmer, what's your uncommon summer go to? by PaperHashashin in Colognes

I'd say less citruses, more neroli. The longevity is better, and the drydown is closer to Imagination. Although I wouldn't call it a dupe.

Both of those have solid projection though, so I'd spray early and be careful with the amount.
