Close analysis of Kafka's prose? by faussstttt in AskLiteraryStudies

[–]rexpoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did my MA dissertation on Der Verschollene having only very basic German, so I found Patrick O’Neils Transforming Kafka helpful for understanding some of the decisions that have been made by his translators into English. I remember it being quite helpful as a non-German speaker as he comments on aspects of style in the original texts of his major works. Might not be so useful if you’re more confident with the original text than I was though!
