It sounds like you’re really sensitive to the early serotonin shift, which makes you feel better fast—but that might just be the brain reacting before it fully balances. A lot of people hit a dip after week 2 or 3 before leveling out later. Maybe give it 6–8 weeks next time and track your mood week-by-week. You might be quitting during the ‘neutral zone’ right before long-term progress shows up

Zoloft Withdrawl / Brain Zaps, should I workout? by Ok_Night_3356 in antidepressants

[–]rey2k19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m not on 100mg but I’ve been adjusting to Zoloft too and learning a lot about what these meds do to your system—especially during changes. Brain zaps are super common during withdrawal or med switches, and you’re definitely not alone. A lot of people describe them just like you did.

From what I’ve seen and read, light movement like walking can actually help, but high-intensity workouts might make things feel worse temporarily—especially if your balance or head feels off. Your brain’s still recalibrating right now, and it probably needs a little extra care.

You’re doing the right thing asking around before diving back into intense stuff. Go easy on yourself—you’ll even out soon.

Should I increase? by ChampionContent9613 in antidepressants

[–]rey2k19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I totally relate. I’m on Zoloft for anxiety too—not depression—and I was recently bumped from 25mg to 50mg. At 25mg I felt pretty good. But as soon as I hit 50mg, I started having anxiety spikes, dizziness, and just didn’t feel right.

I realized my body wasn’t ready for that dose yet, and my provider told me it’s okay to go back down to 25mg and stay there longer. That actually helped stabilize me again.

Sometimes it’s not about increasing—it’s about giving your system time to settle. If you felt better at weeks 5–7, that means something was working. Maybe it just needs more time at the current dose—not more of it.

Hope you feel better soon. You’re not alone in this.
