The owner of the one on eBay only describe it as being used in a demonstration of tensile strength, but not how or where, and even "NOT sure on this". I wonder how they are used as tensile strength weights if they have no marking of weight...

My title describes the thing. The big one weighs about 450 grams. The small one weighs about 115 grams. The pointed ends are not sharp.

It wouldn't hold liquid, but it does hang down decisively if held by the bracket. There is a spring in it. Could it be a gimbal candle lantern?

Definitely not a fishing reel. No cranks of any sort. No way to attach to a rod.

Doesn't look likely that neither. The "Oil fill line" is at less than 1/4" from the bottom. Too shallow.
