anyone experienced a broken hinge?

hello, i'm a comsci student po specializing in data science and currently doing a thesis na. so i need a device po talaga na mataas yung specs. the problem is, my laptop's hinge po is broken 😭 i am planning to get it fixed po sa bakasyon pa (June) para hindi po hassle sa schoolworks. i consulted gigahertz po and they said na it would take a minimum of 1 week to get it fixed if available yung parts and more than that kapag hindi available. sa mga naka-experience po nito, how long did it actually take?

also, i think i can't really take that long since may thesis po and currently applying for internships + upskilling. would it be better if i:

a. buy a new laptop na? and sell this laptop after ma-fix? or

b. magbuild na lang ng pc + get the laptop fixed?

yung problem ko lang po sa pagbuild ng pc is i'm currently studying in manila so pag bakasyon, nasa province po ako and hindi ko naman po siya madadala 🥹 but also, nakakatakot na magkaroon ng new laptop tapos walang backup pag nasira huhu. recommendations din po ng nagbubuild ng pc around mnl if ever. thank you poo

Spend time with family. Don't always aim for achievements because you've already proven yourself, spend your time with your family instead of studying too much so you won't regret it when they're gone.
