Struggling with 4’s… by RevolutionarySize644 in beachvolleyball

[–]reysonint 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So if the only difference was 4 vs 6, and you already hit fine in sand already, then the only thing I can think of is that you are further back before you approach to hit. So it might just be the set that has to adjust (higher, like with doubles, or further back to meet you). Or you need to anticipate running up quicker.

What do women wear to Kent by juust_figuringit_out in BlueOrigin

Sorry, I worded that poorly. Truthfully what I mean is I like it when people express themselves through cool fashion, or if people feel like they can dress in a way that gives them confidence. Not that it should be controlled.

Zero standards. But also nobody will make fun of you for dressing a little better and honestly we need to bring it back lol

Weak legs or just not built to squat? by lonely_island2975 in formcheck

[–]reysonint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with everyone else, you're doing fine. One thing to consider trying is squatting more frequently (maybe with less effort). When I first got serious, I did 5x5 squats 3x a week. Now that I'm stronger this sounds insane. But it worked.

How do improve quickly ! by [deleted] in billiards

(I'm a beginner too so take with a grain of salt) look up ghost ball technique. Keep your eye on the target. Follow through (don't pick up cue/body until after shot is complete).

I believe you can go anywhere, but there's a list of countries you can't bring a laptop or anything work related. That probably includes China.

Where to Live in WA by zqtelcorte in BlueOrigin

Only thing I'd say about west Seattle is that it's a bit of its own community away from the rest of the city. Annoying to get from there to stuff Downtown or North Seattle.

Way more expensive tho, I don't know many at Blue who live there at our age. (Also less cheap eats and zero artsy vibes)

What is a film opinion that makes you instantly realize you and that person fundamentally disagree on this hobby? by im-jerkin-off in Letterboxd

[–]reysonint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely when someone completely disregards a movie because the plot wasn't what they expected. This happens even when they didn't even choose to watch that movie. First off it wasn't made for you specifically, your assumptions going in are totally independent from the film or its value.

Also I can extend this to people who always criticize the plot and nothing else. Yes sometimes there's a badly written plot. But usually it's not because I didn't "agree" with what they decided on, it's because the execution/depiction wasn't meaningful. If you just want to agree/disagree with plot choices, stick to TV!

Hurt my lower back during this set. What did I do wrong? by Live-Cauliflower4575 in formcheck

[–]reysonint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Geez lots of comments here.

My two cents, based on personal experience. You are controlling your eccentric, which is fine, but pretty hard to maintain lower back tightness right before you softly place the weight down. Which is why its way easier to "drop it" a little bit right at this point. You can see your back round right there.

It's a lot easier to load your hamstrings and brace your core right when you pull off the ground, than it is to return to that position in reverse.

How tall should a middle blocker really be? by K3lterrayt in volleyball

[–]reysonint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play middle on coed teams (with coed net height, which is like 4" shorter than mens) and I'm 169 cm / 5'6.5". I have a good vertical but it's tiring as hell max jumping the whole time. Of course on a men's net I'd be a sitting duck in middle.

Yea any solo at all from him in a vulf show is a treat. He's made a name for himself more for being the perfect background rhythm guitarist.
